Hello Mark! Welcome to FixYa!

If you get error 6A80, It probably means that paper was ripped inside, and one piece is stucked somewhere on a sensor. Usualy is the purge unit that clean up the print head, and it's located inside on the right side (printhead parking place).

You have told that you have cleaned the print head but you have to check it again because mostly this error is surely be because of above cause, For it Take a torch, lift up the scanner unit, with the unit ON, wait for the print head to come in the middle, move it to left to make more room, and check the right side, inside the unit. If you find it on right side then remove it

Now if error is still there then move to next given solution to solve this error 6A80:-
Turned out to be the print head unit was not returning fully to the home position ie extreme right. When the scanning unit cover is raised the print head unit moves left for access, look in the vacated area to the right, in particular the small black sponge where the head normally parks. You may find a small spring jammed in beside the sponge, Just remove it

If problem is still there then it may be sometimes 6A80 error is an APP position error caused by the APP motor during the purging operation as the printer starts up. Basically there is an "App Sensor" which is reporting the issue in my case the problem was with the "Purge unit". Canon states that one of three components is likely to have failed, the sheet feed unit, purge unit or logic board. This problem may sometimes solved by EEPROM reset that can be done using the service manual or sometimes solved by following steps:-

  • Left up the cover to reveal the ink cartridges
  • Move the ink / print head to the left hand side
  • Look to the right under the flap where the ink would sit when printer is powered off
  • Underneath there is something in white that is flat - this is called a wiper.
  • Push this wiper with your fingers - pushing in the direction toward the front of the printer -you may need to do this a few times.
  • Power off and then power on (using button on the front and NOT by pulling the power out of the back)
After this if problem still exist then it may because of some hardware issue. If your printer is still in warranty then claim the warranty. If it is out of warranty then you have to contact authorized service center of Canon Printers to solve this problem

I hope this solution helps you and you have clear picture in your mind now
Let me know if you have any confusion in your mind.

Sir, Your Rating as FIVE Stars for this solution and words of appreciation will be esteemed
Thank You for taking my service

Brother DCP-350C magenta ink won't clean and print quality check shows multiple visible gaps

You have a blockage in the print head and/or feed line from the ink cartridge to the print head. One possible fix would be to make a pad of paper kitchen towel wet it and sit the print head on it overnight. With luck the pad will soak the blockage and draw ink through the head. Give the machine two self cleans and try a print quality test to see if you have made ANY improvement. If no improvement - forget it as the blockage has been there too long.

Error # 6A80, flashing green and orange, will not print

Hello,
Canon didn't have such errors, but recently it is heard frequently, I assist that you look for some blockages of the inner mechanisms of the Printer. Probably the Ink cartridges or the head is blocked which result in blocking in cartridge motion or the head motion. Remove any blockages which may like blockages such as clogs, papers, some loose pads, etc.
Proceed as I advised you.
Thank You.

I have got error 5100 what does this mean

Hello

Error code 5100 describes a physical problem either with a paper jam or an incorrectly seated ink tank. Resolving the error is a quick process that only requires a few standard troubleshooting procedures.

Press down and hold the "On/Off" button, which is located on the printer's operator panel, for one second. Wait 15 seconds and then tap the button again. Attempt to print or scan a document.

Check the paper feed tray on the front end of the Canon printer to see if there is any paper visibly stuck inside the printer. Open the printer cover by gripping the front edge of the printer and lifting upwards.

Grab the edge of the jammed paper and gently pull towards you to remove the paper from the paper feeder. Unplug the Canon's power cable and USB cable, and then turn the printer around.

Pull off the rear plastic cover tab and check if there is any visible paper jam. Grab the edge of the paper and gently pull toward you until the paper is removed.

Push the rear plastic cover tab back into place, and reconnect the power cable and USB cable. Attempt to print or scan another document to see if the error is resolved.

Lift open the printer's cover again and wait for the ink carriage to slide into view. Press the "Push" button on the front of the first ink tank. Pull the tank out and then push it back into place to ensure it is properly seated.

Repeat the process with the other three ink tanks, and then close the printer's cover. Power the printer off and then back on again.

But in some other canon printers,Error code 5100 indicates that the waste ink absorber has reached maximum capacity. The Canon i860 printer uses the waste ink absorber to keep ink residue off the printer heads and internal printer components. To resolve this error code, the waste ink absorber must be cleaned out and the error code message needs to be reset.

Open the top of the printer.

Locate the waste ink absorber pad on the right side of the inside of the printer. Grasp the pad and pull up to remove.

Take the waste ink absorber pad to a sink. Run warm water over the pad and wring it out to clean it. Wring the excess water out when done cleaning.

Clean the waste ink absorber compartment with a tissue or cloth.

Set the waste ink absorber pad on a dry paper towel or clean cloth to dry.

When the pad is dry, place it back into it's compartment in the printer.

Close the top of the printer.

Press and hold the "Resume" button on the printer. Press and hold the "Power" button while holding down "Resume."

Release the "Resume" button. Press "Resume" twice. The indicator light will turn amber followed by green.

Release the "Power" button.

Press the "Resume" button four times

Press the "Power" button. The error code is now reset.

Error code 6A00 comes up. Data line and power cord

That error means the purge assembly is not working properly. Could be a scrap of paper stopping it from cycling properly. The purge unit is the cleaning assembly where the printhead parks, it has caps that draw ink from the printhead to clean and a squeegee to wipe off the excess ink. If the printhead comes to the center, unplug printer and check on the right. If nothing there you probably need a shop repair.
