The Problem Canon PIXMA MP800 Error 6A00
1. The print head cartridge keeps locking itself up on the right hand side.
2. Frequent 5100 errors even when the printer is on standby
3. Even when I wipe up the print cartridge, the next print will
mess up the bottom of the print cartridge with ink again.
Step for troubleshooting canon pixma MP800
1. Opening the cover and wait for ink carriage to center
2. Pull out power cord
3. Pushed carriage to far left (should slide easily)
4. Used paper towel and wiped purge unit a lot of times
(press down to soak paper towel with ink). Repeat until the paper towel is relatively clear.
5. Used diluted napisan (oxygen-based cleaning agent in the
ratio of 1:3 with powder:water) and soaked paper towel
6. Repeat step 4 with wet paper towel. Repeat until purge unit is near-white.
7. Pulled and pushed clear plastic wiper (north of purge unit) and wiped it down
8. Slided carriage back to original position
9. Removed Print head cartridge and wiped out excess ink stuck on bottom.

SOURCE: 6A00 error

The error seems to indicate a failed sheet feed, check the paper path to see for any stuck bits of paper, however I have heard that this can also be caused by a flaky sensor in the paper path.....

apparently the best way to deal with this is to turn it upside down and give it a shake.

hope this helps

SOURCE: Error code 6A00

6A00 error on a Canon IP4200 is an AP Postion Error. This means one of three things. A problem with the sheet feeder, Logic board or the Purge Unit. Sadly these part are either working or not working and are difficult to repair. You could try resetting the EEPROM on the unit by entering service mode. A service manual will show you how to do that:

SOURCE: Canon Mp780 error code 6A00

6A00 is not a jam error, it is an error of the purge assembly not cycling properly. Many times a paper scrap jammed in the capping assembly or the squeegee assembly caught on the filter assembly. Usually worn out gears and dried ink so that replacement of the purge assembly is the best fix.

Hi
This is same as the wat full
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

SOURCE: Error Code 6A00, printer not working MP830

This error code means there's something blocking the movement of the cartridges carriage (print head carriage, the mechanism (that slides left-right) which carries the cartridges). Open the front panel door and try cleaning the mechanism, even a small piece of paper or hair can be the obstruction.

Don't forget to turn off and turn on your printer after you are done.

Good luck.

Error code 6A00

Error Code 6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit. You cannot fix it by yourself because you do not have the tools to fix the printer.
You go to a Canons Support Page and ask for a replacement if it is still under warranty or you replace the printer with a new one.
