SOURCE: blue screen and shut off by self
You will need to reset the Netcommand and tuner settings in the set. The little indented button in the front of the set needs to be pushed in (when the set is off). The front light will blink for about a minute or minute and a half. Then, reprogram the Netcommand settings. This should solve your problem. If you need more information, then, reply to this post and I will respond.

yes if the tuner is out and you want to save some money then running an external set top box or your denon are fine. more often than not you will also have better picture quality.
SOURCE: no parts
is it the clear cover protecting the lentil screen behind that you are talking about. if so you dont need this. more often by removing it you get a better picture.
the lentil screen can be brought in the states quite easily.
doing a web search there is a company that will cut you a new one of the roll.

G'day mate
To all accounts it does, this can be checked by verifying that it has TWO antenna inputs. To get the PIP working, you will need to split and feed both antenna inputs. Seems to be set up this way to cater to PIP with set top boxes/convertors that have RF outputs
the 2 tuners can be spotted as the shielded assemblies with covers either side in the lower right corner of this pic. There is a mod floating around that involves bypassing the PIP to fix a fault that the set develops. This may have been done to your already.
check here for details.
Hope this helps you. A fixya rating is a great thankyou for my efforts to assist you . Cheers
