Ice maker in Kenmore refrigerator doesn't make ice. There is no control arm in this model, it seems to work via an "electronic eye/beam" that triggers water to flow. The water dispenser works fine, I have changed the solenoid and have defrosted the freezer and still there seems to be no trigger to send water to the ice maker. I have also manually filled the tray and the water froze but did not eject.

Same problem with one exception: I replaced the ice maker and water valve(NEW) and still no ice. Motor does not turn, no water going into ice maker. With new $150 ice maker and $48. water valve still no Ice.....

Can you locate your model number inside the fresh food section around door frame? I believe you have the ice maker with the electronic eye and sounds like you need to follow these instructions so the ice maker works again. Icemaker will not shut off

The ice maker has a pin plug in the back of most model refrigerators. Disconnect there if nothing works to turn it off. What is the model number of your refrigerator? Does the ice maker have a shut off arm that turns the ice maker off, switch or does your model refrigerator have an electronic eye that turns the ice maker off? Let me know what you find, Thanks Sea Breeze

Ice maker stopped working...water works, ice tray has water, ice maker is turned on. curious if I should just replace the motor or if it could be something else

If your ice maker is not making ice and you poured water into the ice maker, that would indicate the ice maker is not cycling. If you have any make or model except a whirlpool, kitchenaid or sears kenmore, if you replace the ice maker, you will be making ice in no time. If you have one of the aforementioned brands, AND the ice BUCKET is mounted on the door, you will have to replace the electric eye boards on either side wall as well, as these often short, damaging the icemaker electronics in the process.

Ice maker is not working

check that the ice maker arm is not in the up position or has come dislogded. if the metal wire is dislodged use a mirror to help put back in the ice maker. put it back in the round white area with an elongated slot. flip down if off. check the ice maker to see if an ice cube got hung up and is jamming it. check with eyes and fingers. last the ice maker will not cycle if the door switch is not activated. this check requires you turn off the ice maker with the arm. come back in 6 hours put the arm back down and hold door switch and see if it starts.

Kennmore refrigerator is not making ice,but water

The control light flashes to indicate the infrared beam is being blocked. The flap on the opposite side blocks the beam when the door is open to prevent ice from being dropped on the floor rather than in the ice bin. If you pushe the flap in so it's flush with the liner (use care not to block the hole) the light should go from flashing to on in a steady state. If not, your electronics are bad and would need to be replaced. If the light does glow steady, then the problem is with your ice maker, water valve or ice maker fill tube.

Ice Maker will not stop making ice

the beam is defective. Its called an optic eye it does tell the IM that the bins full and cuts power to IM when beams dont see each other.

Ice maker will not stop making ice

You didn't state what make and model fridge you have. But most newer units now use an optical eye system, and when the ice blocks the eye's beam it stops making ice. If you've turned the switch to off and it still makes ice, then you need the unit serviced.

Hope that helps...

No 110 volt to icemaker

additional info:
it has an infrared beam, so on both side walls has an eye. Also on the right side there is an on/off switch.
Apparently the eyes work Ok because pilot light blinks when the door is open and is solid when I move the plastic arm that cuts the beam.

Kenmore side by side

Your motor module is bad on the ice maker. It is located on the left side when mounted in the refrigerator. It is under the White Cover over the end. It is brown in color. To verify the correct problem, the ice stripper arm in the ice maker that turns and pushes the ice out of the mold, should be pointing up towards you when it is in the mounted in the refrigerator. I call it the 2 O'clock position. If the ice stripper arm is pointing another direction, it is broken. I sell the module on Ebay as username, themackshack. My parts are genuine factory parts. Good luck!, Mack
