GALAXY Microsystems 25.4 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator with Filtered Ice and Water Questions & Answers
Check the "grill". Best Buy's ad spec sheet stated the filter was located in the grill. I believe there's an access panel on the bottom front of the grill below the doors.

Hi,
in the freezer there is a drain hole, this hole is obstructed, clear this drain system with hot water or air pressure and this should solve this issue.
Good Luck I’m happy to help further over the phone at

Sounds like if your ice maker is still working, you're having an issue with your filter maybe freezing. Check to make sure your water filter isn't froze. What you're talking about with the overflow is a coincidence, but unless the internal wiring for the unit inside of the dispenser got damaged, i doubt thats the reason why. It's either a frozen filter or bad water valve. Try dethawing the filter or taking it out and seeing how much pressure there is built up in it. There's also a water reservoir in the back of this unit that may be froze too.

it appears as though you have replaced everything in the defrost circuit.. there is no mechanical timer, the defrost control is the circuit board up by the other 2 thermostats/cold controls, damper control box..
either theres a bad connection somewhere (could be a bad moly plug connection) or just a defective component you replaced..
the defrost thermostat should only have continuity when its frozen, once it warms it should open signaling the defrost control that the cycle is complete and to once again begin cooling..
hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn

Pull ice maker out and clean it. Then make sure you have a fresh water filter on water supply. Mold in the freezer is uncommon if its truly freezing inside. You have dirty water coming in. If you need further help, reach me via phone at
