My remote stopped working. I replaced batteries, nothing, bought a universal remote, followed directions nothing. Can the TV be the problem? Is there a factory reset on the TV?

It could be sensor on tv

try holding remote in front of a video recorder and if you push button on remote and view through video recorder you should be able to see the light blinking coming out of remote - if you see the light coming out of remote and it is still not working then the tvs sensor went bad

besides trying to unplug tv for a few minutes there is no reset for this issue

Either you may ahve descrbed about the model number and brand name of the remote control you uses with this tv, I may post a solution by refering its model number. You haven't provided the details of universal remote you uses with this TV. Please provide these details and repost your problem. OK.
