Hi!
What type of CD is it? What type of File is it? If its a video file you may lack the required codecs. Try downloading a program called VLC to play video files. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
thanks! If you have found this helpful please vote for it!

It's an Audio CD. Praise and Blame by Tom Jones

Ok. First Try checking the disks for scratches!

Then insert the disk into your computer and open up windows Media player. This should recognise the disk and load up the songs.

    OR.

    Goto my computer,
Right click on the disk and click Open.
Then manually click on the song names!

    Thanks!

I know that some players were not designed to recognise some formats of CD, often those created by computer drives. But if it did play them it must have developed a fault in the electronics part that recognises CD formats. Hence it's problem now. Without a service manual perhaps a tricky thing to put right.

Acer Aspire 5920G wont play dvd, it wont even recognise them!

If it recognises cd but not dvd it means the drive is faulty. There is 2 lasers one for cd and one for dvd. The dvd laser is faulty. It also means that it is not dirty lens because it reads cd's.

Burn cd will not play on laptop but not on other players

Hi,
This will be due the Format, That you,ve buned The CD In.
A standard CD Player, recognises the WAV Format.
If you,ve downloaded music, it will be in WMA Or MP3 Format.
You,ll need a program such as Nero, to convert the files To WAV Format, to get a standard CD Player to recognise Them.
If you need further information On how to do this, Please mail me. And i,ll assist you further.
