When i turn on my stereo it automatically goes to "protect mode" and i hear one click and it won't turn off you can't do anything, cd, radio, nada. What is the reason for this and how do i fix it?
Try plugging in a pair of headphones. I tried it without the speakers connected and since it found the headphones and they were OK the system came out of protect mode.

This just happen to my mother, the reason was because the speakers she was using were overloading the unit itself. She has 3 big speakers in the kenwood xd-a55 unit; I unplugged all except one, the unit works just fine now, so check your speakers, it just dose it to protect your unit.

I had the same problem with a jvc stereo set, it turned out the two cables of a speaker were touching each other.

You have a failed output amp most liekly and it will take some troubleshooting to repair. My recommendation would be to take it in to a service center for repair.
