I have bought a Super slim external USB portable 24x CD-ROM for my Dell notebook. I can't get DVD's to play on it. The laptop recognises the removable device but there is no option to play the disc. Can you please tell me how to connect properly.

Vista and Windows 7 automatically find the drivers by the way. Just get to the Device Manager, locate it in the list under optical devices and right click on it and choose update driver.

you need to download the driver of your dell latitude laptop.just type the brand and the model of your laptop thru the internet, try to download the driver of your unit.the try save as the driver to your usb.

please try to remove the connection between motherboard and vd/dvd drive.

then perform the previous steps.
