First, can you turn the drum by hand easily in both directions, if yes, then you have a bad motor, if no...unplug the dryer. open the door and in the opening on the top edge there are two screws, remove these. The top on the dryer can now be removed. Inside the top there are two screws that hold the front to the cabinet, remove these. The front can now be removed and rotated to the side. You can now see the fan (blower), make sure there in nothing caught in it, if there isn't, you probably have a bad motor

Faulty Drive Motor
If the motor will not
start, it is possible it is defective. The wiring of the motor is
different for each brand and you will need to refer to the wiring
diagram of your dryer for the specific terminal locations. You will
need to use a volt/ohm meter to check for resistance between the run
winding and common (may be referred to a neutral). If there is no
resistance, the motor is open and will need to be replaced.
The
motor bearings can also go bad. A dryer with a motor in this condition
can sometimes be started by hand and it will run. However when the
motor gets hot the bearings begin to seize and the motor will stop. In
this condition you must also replace the motor.

I had the same problem and this is how I fixed it ,,, i did a comfortor ,very heavy when wet .....next day i tried to do a new load ...when I turned start button all i got was a hum... I removed screws just inside door at top of lip this releases top of dryer,,,, exposing drum i rotated drum clockwise to check condition of belt ....looked good ....mine is 7 yrs old ...to soon to be motor problem ....so while turning drum i held start button on and finally motor kicked in and this solved my problem...you might be able to accomplish this without taking of panel ..though you wont be able to see belt ....by turning the drum from inside dryer while someone else turns on start button

It is probably a faulty capacitor. This component energises the motor on start-up. It is a small white cylinder, usually located next to the motor. it has 4 or 2 connections. Easy to replace it, cost about $30 for the part.
