Basically i plugged in the ac adapter to it, pressed the power button and the power light comes on for 2-3 seconds then the power light shuts off. lcd screen never turned on or show anything, fan never spins up. after several seconds the middle led indicator light keeps blinking. I would have to unplug the ac adapter and plug it back in before i could get the power led to show again for the 2-3 seconds after i press the power button.

Hi,

The middle blue led is the charging indicator, sounds like you have (at least) a bad battery, remove it, plug in AC and try again, if no good, remove the HD and repeat, if no good, remove/replace the ram and repeat, if still no good, your mainboard is cooked.

Thanks,

Adam.

Power problems

Unplug the AC adapter (Charger) from power. Unplug the AC adapter from the laptop.
Remove the Battery.

Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 10 seconds.
(And I mean 10. Count, 1001,..1002,..1003,..etc)

Reinstall the Battery. Plug the AC adapter back in. Plug the AC adapter into power.

(ALWAYS plug the AC adapter into the laptop FIRST, then plug the AC adapter into power.
Why?
To avoid a voltage spike at the laptop)

WAIT 1 minute, turn the laptop on.

Still no?

Then the AC adapter needs to be checked, to see if it is putting out the correct voltage.

Don't know, Model Number wasn't stated.

AC adapter checks out, then it is on to the DC Power Jack.
The jack on the laptop (DC_IN) that the AC adapter plugs into.
What style?

Don't know the Model Number wasn't stated.

DC Power Jack checks out, then I suggest you have a problem with a Power MOSFET,

(Model Number is on the Bottom of the laptop. Plus, this IS a Dell, right?)

My toshiba r10 laptop wont turn on the green power light to the front is on but the yellow battery light only comes onn when i plug in the power cord to it and it only stays about 2 seconds

Ok here's what you will do

1) Unplug the notebook from the ac adapter (charger power cord)

2) Take off the battery pack on the notebook

3) Once the ac adapter and battery is off the notebook, hold down the power button for 15 seconds

4) After 15 seconds, let go of the power button

5) Now plug in the AC ADAPTER (OR CHARGER POWER CORD) ONLY (DO NOT PUT BACK THE BATTERY PACK)

6) Now press the power button once.

7) If the unit boots, the unit suffered a slight surge

8) If the unit does not boot and remains dead, the unit suffered a severe surge and may be burned out and needs replacing

I hope this helps and let me know how it goes afterwards

Wii won't turn on!!!

Try resetting the AC adapter.
  1. Unplug/remove all accessories from the system (including game discs, SD Cards, memory cards, Nintendo GameCube controllers, hookup cables, the AC Adapter, and Sensor Bar) from the outlet and Wii.
  2. Let the system rest for about 90 seconds. While you're waiting, check to see that controller cords, AC Adapter, and Stereo AV cables/Component Video cables are not frayed or have exposed wires (this can cause the system to shut off); if so, you should replace those parts.
  3. After the 90 seconds, Plug the AC Adapter into the system and directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or power strip. Check to see if the power light on the Power button comes on.

Shut off and won't come back. It's like it is dead.

follow this procedure:
1. unplug the ac adapter and keep it unplugged.
2. Remove the battery and keep the battery unplugged.
3. Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds(Nothing will appear on the display and none of the lights will light up)
4. Release the power button and plug in the ac adapter ONLY. (A power indicator light should be lit on the ac adapter when it is plugged in)
5. Normally power on the notebook.
6. If the unit does not power on, remove the ac adapter and insert the battery into the system.
7. Plug the ac adapter back into the system, the battery charging indicator light will light up. If the battery indicator light does not light up, the ac adapter may not be providing proper power to the unit, and may need to be replaced.
