I have a Samsung LN-T5265F tv and with all inputs, I get a red picture where the dark areas are mostly. I have checked all cables, inputs, settings, etc. and cannot get a full color picture back. The users manual suggests it is the componant cable(s), but I am only using a HDMI cable. I have changed the cable, and also tried componant cables.

most likely the HDMI cable going from your home theater system is bad and or has oxygen inside the cabling. if replacing the cable dose not fix the problem the HDMI ports could be dirty and or damaged
Take the back off and look at the power supply. Top right on the board, see if a capacitor has gone bad. I've seen up to 4 caps go bad in the little area. replace with a higher voltage and you'll be good to go.

Make sure your tv is on the right input first of all. The newer flat panel
lcds combine the componenent video (red , blue, green) with the
composite video and audio (yellow, red, white). If your tv is on the
component input then you hear audio from the composite input since the
audio inputs (red, white) are shared. Look for a source or tv input
button on your remote or the tv itself and try pressing this button
unti you see a picture with sound.
I just used this information to solve the same problem...I ended up disconnecting the cable box and restarting the box until I got to the info panel for the box...the picture magicly appeared with several options. I picked one and problem solved...love the faq's on the search engine. lh in dak
I think your cable box is old version together with weak signal caused this problem. I guess you are using coaxial cable hooked up to the TV at TV cable input jack.
At the TV there are some better quality inputs which are real digital transmission (audio and video) HDMI and components (digital video and analog audio).
The most simple and best quality is HDMI provided the box has HDMI output.
Secondly is component inputs. There are 5 cable trends in which 3 of them (red, blue, green) for video and the rest 2 are for audio (red , white). The cable box should have same color accordingly as ouput. Please note that the color must be matched otherwise you will see the screen has one color only.
Playing a DVD player to see picture good or not. If picture is good, TV has no problem at all.
