Will not turn on or off
I had the same problem. I work for a mother board manufacturer w/offices in New Jersey and brought mine into our engineering lab after Samsung
told me tough luck. Anyway, one of my engineers fixed it in 10 minutes. Essentially, he replaced the 1000uF capacitors on the power supply board with 2 cent capacitors instead of the 1 cent capacitors that had blown out on the CHEAP SAMSUNG POWER SUPPLY BOARD. You can tell the caps are blown via visual inspection. The top of the cap should be perfectly flat and a blown cap will be convex on top. Unfortunately, there are also 2500 uF caps by the same cheap manufacturer on the board as well and we don\'t stock that value for our products. According to my engineer, those will most likely blow next since he replaced the others with better caps, but I\'m getting samples of those and will replace them shortly. After that this piece of junk should last me at least another 2 yrs! It\'s been working for about a week now w/no problems. Hope this helps.

A lot of flat panel tv's have crapo capacitors from China, and they interfere with 'ready' circuits. Replace main capacitors on ps area, TV should come on.

Just search for the site named Electro-help. It has details about repair. I assumes that you're somewhat sound in electronics. You can get details there. Search for the site by Google

CHANGING THE CAPACITORS DID NOT
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name"

Samsung TV--fire hazard??
You have measures the cable coming in , go from the center conductor to the braided ground sheath, I really think the problem is with the cable not the TV.

46 inch Samsung TV that just clicks but wont turn on
I just fixed this very same problem. It is the capacitors are
the problem. However, I think that if you have some minimal skills with
soldering, you can fix this yourself. You just need to take out the
system board, then the power supply parts are on the top right. The bad
capacitor(s) will be bulging at the top and possibly have some brown
stuff coming out. The ones that go bad are 1000microfarad, 10V, however
you can replace them with higher voltage. I got 35V caps from radio
shack for 1.59 each. You just need to solder out the bad ones and then
put the new ones in and solder. Remember that the negative end goes on
the side with the bold black part of the circle on the system board.
Then just cut off the extra ends of the capacitors. If you are capable
of doing this yourself, you will spend at most 6 dollars instead of
however much a technician costs.
