Wifi issues with Apple Airport Express +Vostro

No history at all, like how can 2006 printer just fail 2022. impossible. there is story but none told (bought it used 7 years ago)
not told how LCD fails, we can not see if fail
and does, and not told exactly what it did.
we learn later it can NOT SAVE ANY SETTINGs
Virus = settings dead is what we learned.

LCD settings will not save !
BATTERY IS DEAD, NOT ONE EVER LASTED 16 YEARS.
FACTS.:
1: BATTERY IS DEAD.
2: RESET MAGIC DOES NOT FIX BAD BATTERY (SURE)
3: MAGIC, PRINT TEST PAGE FAILS PROVING PRINTER IS BAD, AND NOT SOFTWARE EVER FIXED A DEAD PRINTER.
dead is dead, and hint #1 is LCD + setting + language will not SAVE.

special key press for master rest
and more key pair press for print test page that is dead.

the test page works with NO PC or USB any data cables at all. so printer is dead only

use your airport utility, it will guide you thour the setuo, remember, gate way or bridge. you need both, but you need to choice witch one.

Sometimes performing a PRAM reset on your laptop will sort out WiFi and Bluetooth issues.
Restart the computer, and before the grey screen appears, hold down the Command(?), Option, P, and R keys simultaneously. Keep the keys down until the computer re-boots again and you hear the startup chime for the second time. It should work after that.

Also to play the music in stereo receiver please follow below steps.

1. Plug in the Apple AirPort Express into a power outlet near the stereo. Connect an audio cable from the audio port on the AirPort Express to the audio in port on your stereo. If your stereo has a different sized audio port than the 3.5 mm one on the AirPort Express, you will need to use an adapter to connect it.
2. Plug in an ethernet cable from the AirPort Express to your computer or wireless router for a wired connection. For a wireless connection, connect the AirPort Express to your existing home network, or use a computer with a wireless network adapter to connect directly to the AirPort Express.
3. Connect to the AirPort Express with your computer as directed in the manual to run the setup with the AirPort utility. Follow the instructions on the screen.
4. Open iTunes and play the music to your stereo. There should be a pop up in the lower right corner after you run the Airport utility.

Using the Airport utility on your macbook (located in your Utilities folder) will tell you what the conflict is.....most likely you have DHCP issue or the network is at the incorrect setting.
The wizard in the utility will tell you what you should fix.

Throw the device out of the window, the apple folks are terrible and liers they mislead us into buying this device and it is not working with most Vistas.

Vista has very little drivers for equipment sad but true. However in your case you can use Airport Extream. However here is what an apple tech had to say: If you are a Vista user and you don't have access to a Mac, you will not be able to get this working. Apple hasn't yet stirred itself to release a version of Airport Express Assistant that works with Windows Vista - you can't set it up via Windows' own networking software and nor does the Airport Admin Utility work under Vista. It installs and you can run it, but it returns error messages if you try and connect to the Airport Express. I had to use a Mac to get it working, though once it's set up as a client to your existing wireless network, you can stream from iTunes on a Vista PC to the Airport Express. The documentation is very poor, too, with this: I had to do extensive Googling first to track down the fact that I couldn't set it up with Vista and second to identify the device's IP address and default password. Having said that, it is a breeze to set up via a Mac and works like a dream witih Vista once it's up and running. But don't bother if you have Vista until Apple updates the software.
