Dell Vostro 200 Desktop Computer Questions & Answers
I want to run 3 monitors on my dell vostro
Hi,
Couple of points I’d like to
mention. Vostro has two models slim and mini tower. Both of them are mostly
similar so this should be applicable for whichever you have.
The default graphics card on
the computer is integrated on the motherboard. When you add another video card,
say to the PCI-Express 16x slot on the motherboard, this disables the
integrated video card.
If the 2 monitors are
connected to the video card, both would get display.
When the computer is turned
ON, if you plug in the 3rd monitor to the integrated video card, you would not
get any display on the 3rd monitor. BUT if you restart the computer
with the 3rd monitor plugged in, the computer would give a signal to
the 3rd monitor and disable the two monitors connected to the video
card. This feature is added on purpose to diagnose any possible video card
problems. Eg. Assuming there was a problem with the video card, if this feature
were not available you would not get any display on the monitor from any of the
ports and you would not be able to diagnose if the problem was with the
monitor, integrated video or the video card.
Hope this helps. Please rate
your feedback!
Thanks,
VJ
Uninstall windows vista
That's a huge undertaking. You'll need the motherboard drivers, the Video and audio drivers and the driver for your CD rom drive and ethernet card before uninstalling Vista. If you don't get the correct drivers for the operating system you intend to replace Vista with, your PC will never operate correctly, if at all
Keyboard does not work
To repair this error:
1)Run regedit Click on Edit -> Find kbdclass
2) Search through for as many "Upperfilters" you can find.
Mine was under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3) They most likely have 2 lots of drivers associated with it eg 'tphclhs kbdclass' , usually comes if you have installed VMWARE previously
4) Double click the 'Upperfilter' and delete the other entry except 'kbdclass'
5) Search for all instances of this and change them
6) Go to device manager and uninstall your keyboard - then 'scan for hardware changes'
7) You will most likely need to restart Keyboard should now be working fine.
