I connect my seagate external hardrive to my xbox to store some data on it because my xbox does not have an internal hardrive. So i figured i can use my portable external hardrive to my xbox, and it said i...

Either you have 50 gigs of stuff on there or your hard drive space is not being properly read. U might need to reformat the drive if necessary.
Meanwhile your xbox electronics may have a limit on the size of space - so if the drive has 200 gigs of space on it and your unit will only recognize 32 gigs, then that is all it sees and can use. Capiche?

I want to use my seagate 500gb freeagent to store movies and to play them on the tv, but when i load movies on to it, it comes up as an unsupported device. i cant open it up at all. thanks.

The video you want to play must be in the correct format and your tv must be USB compatible to read off of the usb.
If you have an Xbox, or Wii and put XBMC on it, it should be able to play various video types such as .avi, .mov, and etc.

My 1Tb Seagate FreeAgent Go portable drive stopped being recognized. When plugged in the lights blink but I can't see it to recognize it.

Connect it to a different computer. If it still is not detected, then there is a hardware problem. Exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.

I can not access my western digital 1tb external hardrive. it does not even show up on the computer any where.

If you get no joy using the Troubleshooting Guide then try this...
You will need to check You Tube to find a Dismantle on your product and follow the step guide on here, the procedure should be similar.

My neighbour has the Seagate FreeAgent Desk 500GB, and in under 2 weeks it started to beep and was not reconized by any Laptop or P.C. if this is the same for you with any FreeAgent Desk series ( not GO series, different procedure for GO products). You maybe in luck click this link, you may have to register in the forums to view thread.... http://www.yo-lid.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=84 Thread can be found in 'Technical' under 'General Technical Issues'

Installing 1tb External Hardrive from Freeagent onto Macbook Pro

I would be tempted to format the drive using the disk utility whch can be found under applications and then utilities once opened choose your drive in the left hand window and on the right hand side click on erase. If you are using the Seagate drive for the Mac only, format it as a Mac OS Extended (journaled) Choose your volume format and name and then erase. Hope this helps.
