It's probably either just dirty, or the belt is broken. If it's dirty, you can just take the cover off (two Phillips head screws on the bottom) and clean everything off the brush.

If the belt is broken, you can tell by turning the large gear at the back of the brush -- if the brush turns when you spin the gear, the belt isn't broken -- then you'll need to replace it. You can buy a new belt online, or you can buy a replacement Turbo Brush directly from Bissell ($24.99).

Hope that helps!

Turbo brush on bissell cleanview helix stopped spinning

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuum's belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

I misplaced manual for Bissell Bagless Cleanview II, nothing being picked up in the plastic bin, where to I look for clog other than bottom of hose near bottom plate please?

Recline the vacuum fully to the floor when looking for clogs in the lower hose. You can run a broom stick through the upper hose to remove any clog. Also, check the brush to make sure there is no obstruction. Lastly, make sure all 3 filters are clean and clear because if they are dirty that can restrict air flow drastically. How do i put the plastic bagless part back

I have an Bissel Cleanview Helix which I think is similar. The lock'n seal lever has to be in the unlock position first. Place the filter cup in first and then the Dirt container next and hold it in place and move the lock'seal lever to the lock position. I hope that this has helped you.

My bissell helix cleanview vacuums brush doesn't spin

Sounds like the beater brush is frozen and won't turn. Remove the beater brush and clean off all debris, especially at both ends. You will find a square(?) piece at each end of the beater brush that holds it in place. This need to turn freely. Put a little WD40 on these where the center rod of the beater brush enters the small holders and turn by hand until they turn freely. Once this is done, assemble with new belt, making sure the belt is put on properly. If the belt is missing and you need to replace, I would still do the cleaning on the beater brush. It should move freely when you turn it by hand.
