Turbo brush on bissell cleanview helix stopped spinning
Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.
There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.
First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.
While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuum's belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

I misplaced manual for Bissell
Recline the vacuum fully to the floor when looking for clogs in the lower hose. You can run a broom stick through the upper hose to remove any clog. Also, check the brush to make sure there is no obstruction. Lastly, make sure all 3 filters are clean and clear because if they are dirty that can restrict air flow drastically. You can purchase filters at

The turbo brush attachment on
The turbo brush may just need to be cleaned. If hair or other large debris gets wrapped around the brush, it can prevent it from spinning. Since the top of the turbo brush is clear, you can look in and see if there is a lot of hair wrapped around the brush. If so, you can open it up by removing the two screws on the bottom of the brush and popping the clear cover off, then cleaning all the debris from the brush (scissors work well if its hard to get dog hair off). Be careful to see how the brush goes back together as you take it apart.
If cleaning the brush doesn't fix it, the belt might be broken. As you're looking at the top of the brush, there is a little belt that goes from the brush itself to the large blue/green gear (it's red on some models) so that if you reach your hand in and turn the gear, the brush should spin. If this belt is broken or missing, it will need to be replaced. You can probably find a replacement belt online, or you can order a whole new turbo brush from
the Bissell website for $24.99.

The vacuum seems to have lost a lot of suction
sounds like there is blockage in the suction hose -- lay the machine down and remove the lower floor plate and clean out the hose area where it bends down to the floor unit ( use a wire coat hanger to fish out the blockage ). also check the main hose for any obstructions.

My bissell helix cleanview vacuums brush doesn't
Sounds like the beater brush is frozen and won't turn. Remove the beater brush and clean off all debris, especially at both ends. You will find a square(?) piece at each end of the beater brush that holds it in place. This need to turn freely. Put a little WD40 on these where the center rod of the beater brush enters the small holders and turn by hand until they turn freely. Once this is done, assemble with new belt, making sure the belt is put on properly.
If the belt is missing and you need to replace, I would still do the cleaning on the beater brush. It should move freely when you turn it by hand.

How do i unclog my bissell power fresh steam mop?
Soak the reservoir with half vinegar and half water over night. This will clean up calcium and lime deposits. Also, straighten a paper clip and insert in the holes where the steam comes out. For future advances, aleays pour the wster out and let air dry. I keep my lid off of mine when not in use. I just put it in a ziploc bag and attach it to my steam mop.
