I purchased a 32 inch flat screen coby tv on 11/2010. I am trying to advance the channels with the right up and down channel button on the remote, but it only goes to favorites. I only want to advance one channel at a time. The tv is conneted to cabel.

Are you using the cable box remote on the cable box or the coby remote on the cable box? or are you using the cable box remote on the TV or the coby remote on the TV? Try using the coby remote on the TV without the cable box connected first to see if the remote even works on the TV, replace the batteries and retry. then try the cable box remote on the TV to see if you have it set up correctly for that TV. Sometimes when you reprogram a remote to work other devices the buttons won't always end up working the commands that are labled on the remote, also there is more than 1 code that may work better than other codes or may match up with the labeled keys more closely. Low batteries will also make a remote act strangely.make sure the batteries also make good contact on the pins or metal pieces inside the remote. I guess I need more info on which remotes are being used for what purpose before I could give a more certain answer.
