Xerox Phaser 7400/DXF Laser Printer Logo

Xerox Phaser 7400DN keeps rejecting jobs I send to print because it says "Wrong Paper Size" in tray. I am using 11 x 17 paper in the MPT tray, and it asks for 8.5 x 11 instead. I am sure the page set-up is correct at 11 x 17, and I have tried this from multiple computers in the shop. Also display does not work so I can't read the error message if any.

It's hard to set up the mpt tray when the display is out. Send the job to the printer with no paper in the mpt. The printer should then ask you to put 11 x 17 in the mpt. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: I am trying to print

The tray itself should have tabs on the side telling the type of paper look at those and see if there is anything broken off.

SOURCE: Printer says paper jam, but no paper is jammed

Check the following information.......
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/Paper-Jam-Error/m-p/305772#M20513
or
most of the time for a paper jam, there is a QUEUE of papers waiting to be printed. id take out the usb cable via the back of the computer {the one that connects to the printer} go into the control panel, look for printers, double click on that, find the printer, it should say {working offline} right click that, choose the uninstall/delete opts. turn off the printer. reboot the machine, wait until it boots all the way up. take the printer, turn it on, then plug back in the usb cable to the back of the machine. if it is windows either xp/vista it will auto find the usb cable and install automatically. you can then go back to the control panel, printers and it should be listed in the directory. try to right click go to properties of the printer and do a TEST PRINT, should print out.

My Xerox Phaser 6128MFP printer flashes red light after every print out....

First, when you put the paper in the tray make sure the paper holders on the side and back of the tray are positioned against the paper stack but not so much as to be snug.
Next, inside the compartment where the paper try is inserted look for a small plastic piece that hangs below the ceiling of the compartment. It should be near the front of the compartment hanging down and should swing freely backward.
Also, in the printer's paper tray settings make sure that tray is set to that size of paper you are using.

Xerox phaser 7400DN jabs at fuser

The printer trays accommodate most sizes and types of paper, transparencies, or other
specialty media. Follow these guidelines when loading paper and media in the trays:
- Envelopes, labels, and glossy paper can be printed from Tray 1 (MPT) only.
- Transparencies and custom size paper can be printed from Tray 1 (MPT) and Tray 2.
- Fan paper, transparencies, and labels prior to loading them in the tray.
- Use only paper envelopes. All envelopes should be printed single-sided only. Some
wrinkling and embossing may occur when printing envelopes.
- Do not overload the paper trays.
- Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size.
- If excessive jams occur, use paper or other media from a new package.

How do I print on 4X6 photo paper on the Xerox Phaser 8560

To print 4 x 6 on a Phaser 8560 you can only use the MPT and you can't duplex. When you load the paper into the bypass, the screen will pop up options for paper size and type. The closest match to 6 x 4 is A6 but the tray will know that the size is wrong if you select it. Therefore, you must select 'Custom Size' and input the size in whatever units the printer requests, either inches or millimeters depending on your printer settings.
Hope this helps.

Xerox phaser 7760 sends fault error code 007-274. Won't go further. -john

This error means there is an open circuit in the Paper size sensor, in Tray 1/MPT.

It could be a broken wire in the tray assembly, or a fault on the Engine control interface board.

The voltage at the sensor should be about 3 VDC. (Pin 1 of Plug J610)

The print comes out lower on the page than it is on the computer.

The 7400 sets up that reistration on power up, which you have appropriatly done.
I would check the position of the paper trays. Check and see if the guides are against the paper properly, and then also see if the paper tray itself is sliding into the latched position properly.
There could be some software corruption. Let me look into that issue a little bit. I will send you moer info. But check the tray guides and position first.
