Hi there. The reason that you cannot install the drivers for the camcorder is because your operating system is a 64 bit system. after looking on Sony's support website i don't think that they supply the X64 drivers anymore. If you have you original software CD try installing the cam with that because the X64 drivers could be on the CD.
Download latest driver & software update for your Sony DCR-TRV250E handycam at Sony Support. Please check Hot News and Downloads on web page. Hope this will helpful to resolve no sound problem.

Please got to Menu of your camera and enable USB Stream function.
Install driver software from Sony camcorder cd provided with camera package.
If you are using Windows XP, drivers will be installed automatically and you will see recorded movie in PC.
