Hey
you need to go to start, settings, connections, and you have to change the connections, edit, My ISP --- make sure its set this connects to the internet.

lets see how thats done on my own HTC windows mobile pda / phone.

So
1. start
2. settings
3. from the bottom, connections
4. connections
5. on the bottom advanced.
6. Programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using - MY ISP or MY work network. Then click on edit
7. On the bottom proxy settings
8. check the box this network connects to the internet.

that should be it, I've had this same problem a number of times myself.

let me know if you need further assistance.

Configuring the PC

After you directly connect your PC to the modem router or connect your adapter to a Hub/Switch which has connected to the modem router, you need to configure your PC's IP address. Follow the steps below to configure it.

Step 1: Click the Start menu on your desktop, right click My Network Places, and then select Properties (shown in Figure 3-1).

Figure 3-1

Step 2: Right click Local Area Connection (LAN), and then select Properties.

IV' Note:

You can configure the PC to get an IP address automatically, select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" in the screen above.

Now, you can run the Ping command in the command prompt to verify the network connection. Please click the Start menu on your desktop, select run tab, type cmd or command in the field and press Enter. Type ping 192.168.1.1 on the next screen, and then press Enter.

If the result displayed is similar to the screen below, the connection between your PC and the modem router has been established.

You can check it following the steps below:

1) Is the connection between your PC and the modem router correct?

The LEDs of LAN port which you link to the device and the LEDs on your PC's adapter should be lit.

2) Is the TCP/IP configuration for your PC correct?

If the Router's IP address is 192.168.1.1, your PC's IP address must be within the range of 192.168.1.2 ~ 192.168.1.254.

3.2 Quick Installation Guide

With a Web-based utility, it is easy to configure and manage the TD-W8968 300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ Modem Router. The Web-based utility can be used on any Windows, Macintosh or UNIX OS with a Web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari.

1. To access the configuration utility, open a web-browser and type the default address http://192.168.1.1 in the address field of the browser.

After a moment, a login window will appear, similar to the Figure 3-8. Enter admin for the User Name and Password, both in lower case letters. Then click the OK button or press the Enter key.

(V' Note:

  1. Do not mix up the user name and password with your ADSL account user name and password which are needed for PPP connections.

  2. If the above screen does not pop up, it means that your Web-browser has been set to a proxy. Go to Tools menu-Internet Options-Connections-LAN Settings, in the screen that appears, cancel the Using Proxy checkbox, and click OK to finish it.

Lost disc to install d-link rooter

You do not need a driver other than the NIC in your computer. if need to configure the router, connect to it through wire or wireless, then use its web-based configuration page @ 192.168.0.1 (default) via a browser.

good luck,

My wireless router stopped working recently. I unplugged it and i can get internet access if i connect directly to my computer via LAN cable but my wireless network is not showing on the list of networks...

Note: This FAQ uses the DIR-655 as an example, however the process is the same for all D-Link routers.

Step 1: Open your web browser and type in the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1 by default).

ip.jpg

Step 2: Enter the username (admin) and password (blank by default), and then click Ok or Log In .

admin.jpg

  • How do I find my routers IP Address, in Windows XP?
  • How do I reset my router back to the factory default settings?

(NOTE: To reach the configuration page of your D-Link router in Mac OS, you will need to use a Java compatible browser such as Firefox or Camino.)

(NOTE: Some routers have a "Captcha" graphical login option. This option can be disabled in the advanced options of the routers configuration.)

I forgot my custom ip address of us robotics so now how i can connect to it

The default address for that make and model is: http://192.168.2.1
If you changed the default address, you can perform a factory restore to reset the router.
To restore the factory default settings is to press in and hold the RESET button on the Wireless MAXg Router for between five and ten seconds.
You will lose all of your personal settings if you restore the factory default settings.

    Wireless Connection

You need to goto the routers web page and set it up.

To do that, connect to it and get online with a wired connection.

Now, in your web browser's address bar, put your router's IP address number.
One I saw from belkin was 192.168.2.1 out of the box.

Then click on go and the browser should goto the routers setup page, where you can set your security and wireless network up.

Then, on the computer that is going to be connected wirelessly, setup the wireless network card or adapter and input your network key.

Connecting a Ipaq RX3715 to a wireless router

First, you have to be sure your ipaq has wi-fi feature is on and you can check on network connectivity option for any wrong setup there. According to your information, your ipaq is not recognized by your router and I agreed that your router is working normally. Try to reboot your ipaq and be sure to get wi-fi to turn on and try to connect it again. I have my Dell Axim also used Windows Mobile like Ipaq and it connected easily with no issue. The message in your to show me that you need first to identify your ipaq before you you can get it to connect to your network. I hope this help.
