The laser lens is either dirty or bad. You can clean the lens with a "Q" tip and alcohol if it's dirty. However, if it's bad, then it'll need to be replaced. The part is around $35.00.

Xbox360 disc tray motor won't stop spinning

Hi Matt,

Here is the process for troubleshooting this specific issue:

  • First remove your disc from the tray. I assume you have already done this.
  • Ensure your faceplate (the front of your system) is on correctly. Sometimes these can become loose and off kilter. Press the two edges firmly with your hands and "push" it into place.
  • Push the eject button. Although it hasn't worked in the past, adjusting the faceplate may correct the issue.
  • If that doesn't work, move the disc tray drive gently from left to right when it is open. Again, be gentle-- what we're trying to do here is slightly adjust the disc tray in case it isn't entering your system properly.

Still not working? Time to send it to Microsoft for repair. You can find all of that information on their official support site. Click here for more details.

Hope that helps!

Its due to faulty Laser Lens/head. Try cleaning it by cleaning CD. If still the problem persists, contact near by service center.

CD changer eject button does not work. Three discs are inside. Changer works. Good sound is produced. But unable to eject disc changer to change discs.

Inspect the tray or door to see if there is a very small hole in it. If so, this is an 'emergency' ejection hole and a standard paper clip, unfolded, can be inserted there to manually eject the tray. This is a real common problem caused by the slippage of a clutch mechanism that is supposed to protect the tray mechanics from being damaged if the tray is somehow impeded during its travel.  It must be tougher than rocket science to properly design this feature -
