DVD Player won't open

When I push the open button nothing happens. The DVD portion of the player has turned into a dedicated player for the current DVD. Is there any way to manually force the player to eject?

Try this. This works on some brands and models.

Power up the unit. Using the remote, press and hold the 'STOP' button for about 5 seconds. Release and press the 'OK' button.

Below is some basic instructions about how to remove a DVD from an average player. There are many models, and each may have its own particulars to work around. Personaly, I would suggest taking it to a service shop to have this done.

Taken from: http://www.ehow.com/how_2036282_remove-dvd-player.html

Unplug the DVD player and take the outer casing of the DVD player off. This entails either taking out two or three screws or simply sliding one of the pieces of plastic in either direction.
Locate the disc loader cover. The disc loader cover is located where the extending DVD tray finally comes to rest within the DVD player. It’s the part that holds the DVD loader in place. Bend the two tabs outward that hold the loader in place. This is a delicate procedure because you don’t want to hurt the device. The tabs are relatively easy to break since they're plastic in most cases. Slide the disc tray out. If your disc got stuck before it was read, it's probably still on this tray. If so, your problem is solved. However, if the disc was fully set and loaded, the job isn’t quite finished yet. Move the small mechanical arm that holds the disc in place over so that the disc and the reader are both exposed. Some DVD players will not have anything holding the disc in place. Instead, these devices use a system not unlike that of a common DVD case. The DVD will be locked in place in the center. Carefully lift the disc up and out of its loaded position in the DVD player. This may entail sliding the disc reading mechanism over slightly. This won't hurt the device as long as you’re careful. You should be able to access and remove the disc. Another method from: http://www.ehow.com/how_2054298_remove-dvd-stuck-player.html Turn off the DVD player. Wait a few minutes, turn the DVD player back on, and then press the "eject" button. If this does not work, turn it off and unplug the DVD player. Flip the DVD player. Remove the screws and take off the DVD casing. Look for the DVD holder inside the DVD player. This device holds the DVD in place while the DVD player reads the disk. Push the stuck DVD disk toward the front of the DVD player until the DVD ejects. Remember the DVD player is not on and some force must be applied. Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Put another DVD in to test whether the player is working properly. Try the DVD that was stuck if you want to take the risk. Jerry G.

The first method to eject DVDs is the method Samsung tech support gave me before.
They told me it had something to do with a "demo" mode that would "lock" the DVD tray so no customers could just walk up and take out the DVD in the player.
With so many people having the same problem though, I think it's an issue Samsung just didn't want to deal with (as far as repairing).

It sounds that the laser pickup unit to your HTS is faulty. Contact any service technician to replace it. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box.

I have a sanyo dvd/vhs player and when you push the eject button to eject the dvd player it won't open. Help!

If you take off the top cover you might find that a drive belt that moves the tray is either off or broken. They are cheap to replace you just need to measure the diameter in MM and then enter "drive belt XXmm" into Google go for the nearest size to your measurement.

Go Video DV 2150 - DVD door won't open at all. You can hear a mechanism working behind the closed door, but nothing happens and the door remains shut. Any advice??

There is a small belt under the loading tray which would have gone slack ( loose ) and the sound you hear is it slipping on the motor pulley. If you are confident you can remove the mechanism and turn it upside down and access this belt. Dismantle only if you can get the spare belt or your efforts will be in vain.

My dvd player is stuck on one dvd and wont let me eject, change disc, or even stop the current dvd. display reads "locked" whenever i press any buttons. can only turn on and off the device.

Hi, For some reason the disk will not play. You push the eject button over and over again, but the disk slot will not open. Here's one solution...
* 1 Turn off the DVD player. Wait a few minutes, turn the DVD player back on, and
then press the "eject" button. If this does not work, turn it off and unplug
the DVD player...while you keep pushing EJECT button plug the DVD and turn it on (your hand still on the eject..) is should come out..
* 2 ..if it does not eject , unplug the DVD player again, Remove the screws off DVD on the sides and take off the DVD casing.
* 3 Look for the DVD holder inside the DVD player. This device holds the DVD in
place while the DVD player reads the disk.
* 4 Push the stuck DVD disk toward the front of the DVD player until the DVD
ejects. Remember the DVD player is not on and some force ( gentle ! ) must be applied.
* 5 While it is open, plug it on and place a DVD disc just to see if mechanism works properly..
* 6 Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Put
another DVD in to test whether the player is finally working ..
Hope this helps!..
Take care and please

DVD will not play when the play button is pushed

call support from manufacturer on how to reset your player,
For instance, on Samsung players after it is powered on you hold in both channel buttons for 10 sec and the player restarts. that fixed mine that had the same problem

NOTHING WORKS ON DVD PLAYER

My daughters had the same problem, try replacing C411 (I think that was the number on the board), its a 10V 1000uf capacitor in what appears to be the 5V power supply section toward the right rear of the main board, that fixed it. On hers the capacitor was swelled up on the end. I checked it out of the circuit and the DVM I used only indicated it had about 500uf capacity.
