Black Screen Whenever I try to use the live camera mode on my HP Photosmart 935 camera, it's a black screen, with I that when I take a picture, or record a video. Can someone tell what is wrong, and how to fix it?

It sounds like your colour sensor is having issue deciding what colours should be what. To test this, take a picture of something else white, first try something large like a cloud or a white pillow from close up, see if it comes up black. Then try something like an egg against a different colour background, something skin toned would work best, or use yellow. If those come up white, you've got me stumped, but it is likely they will appear to be black.

remove back cover, and re-secure your ribbon cable

after you take a picture try pushing the view button.

When you press the shutter button, does it make the shutter sound?

Also do you see any display?(the aimer thingy.)

Try pressing the red camera button when it goes black, if it works the cameras just in power saver mode.

Really? Your lcd screen might be damaged! take it to someone who can tell if a pixel is damaged or not.

I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback as well.

I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito, Ecuador)

Hold the middle button on the right side of the screen, while holding the OK and V buttons

This is an internal failure and the camera has dies. HP support will advise- depending on age of camera whether they replace it or you buy another

Do you have it in manual mode with too small an aperture and too fast a shutter speed?
