I suppose you mean for printing.

In this case there are two simple ways for doing what you want:

1) In the menu File select: Page Setup / Orientation: portrait, landscape.
Or,
2) In the menu File select: Print / Printer properties: portrait, landscape, rotated landscape.

Most software’s will do this way.

Hope this is what you’re looking for.

HOW DO I CHANGE BETWEEN LANDSCAPE/PORTRAIT?

most printers do not have an automatic preference but a requirement to set it prior to printing
at the print stage go to properties , select the landscape or portrait button and apply
that makes it a default setting for all future printing

Canon ir3045n - when printing the paper orientation has switched to landscape. How do we change it back to portrait?

Hello Donna,

To change the orientation of the printer from landscape to portrait follow these simple steps;

- open any document and go to print from the file menu
- when the printers settings window opens click 'properties'
- In the next up coming windows you can see menus like 'main, page setup, effects' profiles
maintenance etc.
- click 'page setup'
- There you can see 'page size' and 'orientation'
- change the 'orientation' from landscape to portrait
- click ok and print
Done : )

At college we have a w7200, how can we print across the paper rather than down it, for example a panoramic image across the width of the paper and say 20cm high

Try selecting LANDSCAPE as opposed to PORTRAIT by using the proper print menu in your application rather than the simple print icon from most tool-bars.

You can usually find it in the FILE menus

Change from landscape to portrait

There should be an option either in the monitors drivers or in Windows Control Panel that sets it to portrait mode. I hope this helps, Yannick.
