I recently purchased a new P2 system. I am playing MLB The Show 08 and SEVERAL times after hit EXIT game locks up when should be loading to exit game. I have already swapped out P2 system after a month of having it for another one and same thing. My P2 sits on bottom shelf of tv stand and is off the carpet--only a small hole from back of tv stand accesses the P2 system.
Does new P2 system have issues with laser that locks up often? Could it be dirty already and HOW do you clean new P2 systems?
Do you suggest getting a P3 since new P2's appear to be Shi&&Y
Do you think its getting to hot,why mention the small hole in the back from TV stand?????Run a fan on the box while your playing to see if there is a heat issue.

Is your CD dirty or does it have any cracks? It might just be the problem. Otherwise, it could be corrupt game data. Clean the disc, if it still doesn't work I'd try deleting the game utility data and re-downloading it. Hope this helps in some way or another.
since mlb 08 the show is an outdated version of the game the servers get shut down for older games to make sure the creators of the game put their full attention on the current version of the game.
That is because you like many people received a faulty blu-ray laser . Call Sony support ASAP and they will repair or replace it for free if it is under warranty. If it is out of warranty, there may be a local tech that can repair it. Don't get scammed though. Make sure they have their own repair shop and/or a great reputation before you let them work on it. Thank you!
I think the laser maybe starting to get weak. If you have a can of air you can blow some air into the drive to remove any specs of dust or dirt that could be getting in the way.
some games require more info to be loaded and that takes more power from the laser in the dvd drive to do so.
try that and if it doesn't help then just double-check to be sure the discs that are not able to be played are clean and smudge free on both sides of the disc.
If it still doesn't read then the laser needs to be replaced in your dvd drive or you can replace the whole drive, whichever is easier for you. You can usually find lasers and drives on Ebay cheaper then most places.
Yikes!! I'd have to agree with you that the system is on the fritz, I suggest that you send it to a professional system repair service. (I can't suggest any off the top of my head, I used to know the number for one but I forgot it.)
