Helppppppp!!!! Hi, windows media player doesn't read my mp3. every time i plug it in it reads for about 5 seconds then it says " Windows Media Player does not detect a portable device. Connect your portable device, and then try again." then it reads,then it does that again. it says i have an unknown error called" Error ID = 0xC00D11CD, Condition ID = 0x00000000 ". please help me!!!!!

I'm afraid that doesn't tell us much, as OxC00D11CD is a generic "I don't know what's wrong, but something's wrong, so I'm going to give you a rubbish message that makes it look like I know what I'm doing, even though I don't really" message that Windows spits out in this situation.

Are you using WMP 10 or 11?

There is a problem with the USB cable or your USB ports - check Start--> Control Panel--> Printers and Other Hardware --> system --> Hardware--> device Manager-->USB Controllers for more detials (I am assuming Windows XP) - see if there is a yellow exclamation by your USB port

or

try a different usb port or cable

COMPUTER WILL NOT READ MP3 PLAYER
Hi, it sounds like your computer doesn't have the driver for it. Have you updated your Windows Media Player to Number 11. Go to Windows website, download WMP 11 and then plug in your MP3 player and it should find it.
