I tried the firware update, the hard reset by pressing the power button for 10 sec, updating Win Media 11, trying other USB ports, and it will still not be recognised by WMP.

The Sansa Connect requires that you have Windows Media Player version 10 or later installed on your computer, in order to be recognized by your computer. If you already have WMP 10 or 11 installed on your computer, re-install it.
On your Sansa Go to "Settings" then "System Settings" then "USB Mode," change it to MSC, now try connecting it. If that doesn't work try the other modes just in case.
Hope this helps!

To format your Sansa, connect it to computer, using USB cable.
After connecting to the computer go to computer in Windows (My computer on XP), you should see the Sansa as Removable disk. Click the right button of the mouse on the sansa disk that you get on Computer and chose format. If you are asked for the FAT chose FAT32.
