The compressor runs constantly. I cleaned off the cooling grills and made sure the rear fan is operating. I am not sure if the top fan in the freezer is working. I set the toggle in th efreezer at the coldest setting but the temerature level is just below freezing. It won't make ice. Temperature in the refrigerator is only 50 despite being set on the coldest setting..

If the cooling system is functional, yes.
The ac condenser adds heat to the air coming thru the radiator when the ac is on. If the engine cooling system is weak, the extra heat will make the engine run hot.
Low coolant flow thru the radiator is a common cause.

My electrolux refrigerater compressor and fan is not kicking on

Hello 1clevergirl - Make sure you have cleaned the unit's coils and behind the toe grille at the bottom/front o f the refrigerator. If you are not hearing the compressor running and it is not cooling contact a service professional immediately. The compressor is constantly meant to go on and off frequently to keep unit at a constant temperature. In this case the refrigerator could possibly have a coolant leak or an issue with the internal sealed system including the evaporator fan.

I recently washed my freezer (back department) and now the mortor is working but it does not cool.

Check to see if the compressor cooling fan is operating and also check the compressor to make sure that it is truely working. If the cooling fan is not operating then it is probably the contactor-relay or capacitor not starting the compressor or the fan.

Suggest you use a shop vac and an air compressor to clean the rear compartment the next time.

Fridge is not cooling/freezing properly. have tried to clean vents and coil(floor level) by removing grill and using vacuum wand also cleaned some vent in rear. model #TFX24CR. It is still keeping...

Hello,
One additional thing to check is behind that rear vent behind that cardboard covering for the compressor. See if the fan motor next to the compressor is clean and the fan seems to running at a high speed. If that fan motor is running but doesnt seem to running as fast as say a table top fan would be running,go ahead and replace that fan motor.

Outside surface gets hot to touch

The most likely problem is a dirty or clogged up condenser grill (under your unit). When the condenser grill is dirty it can get rid of the system heat build up, so it transfers the heat to the cabinet.

Remove the front grill and vacuum it the best you can, a small brush would help loosen up the dirt. Then move the unit away from the wall and remove the rear panel and use an air compressor to blow it out.

Make sure that the condenser fan is operating or that could also be the problem.

If none of this remedies the problem then your unit could need to be charged with freon. Because if the freon is low the compressor has to work harder to cool.

My refrigerator and freezer worked fine until after a power outage. Now the unit will not cool at all, and the fan runs constantly. What should I look for?

The condenser coils dissipate heat. If dust and debris accumulate around the coils, your refrigerator may not be able to cool properly, it may run continuously(non stop fan action) or it may stop completely as a result of an overheated compressor. You should clean rear-mounted coils once a year. Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. Refrigerators are heavy, never tip one forward or backward. Never attempt to move a refrigerator without an assistant. Vacuum or brush the coils. If coils have a filmy build-up, use warm soapy water to clean them. Take care not to spill or drip water onto the components of the refrigerator. You should clean floor level coils at least twice a year. Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning. Vacuum or brush the coils. Remove the grill from the front of the refrigerator and use a vacuum with a wand attachment to remove any dust and debris. The grill should snap off and on. Pull firmly toward you and possibly upward to remove the grill. If it does not come off with a modest effort, check for screws or retaining clips that may hold it in place.

Now, Once the coils are cleaned, simply re- introduce power to the unit, and observe for a couple of hours. If the fan continues to run, and there is no cooling affect, this will indicate that the main control aboard(PCB), is damaged. It must be replaced in this case.

Wine cooler will not cool

Hello there:
  1. Many coolers have a condenser (grill mounted on or box shaped condenser mounted under the unit often cooled by a fan). Be sure this fan is running and that there is not excessive lint or dust build up restricting the cooling of the condenser. This is a very important part of the coolers performance.
  2. A leaky door makes your cooler very inefficient and costly to operate. Small cuts, slits, or breaks in refrigerator door gaskets can usually be filled or glued with white Silicone bathtub caulk.
  3. On coolers with coils underneath rather than on the back, particularly Coldspot, Whirlpool, GE, Hotpoint, and Amana, clean the coils twice a year and check that the fan underneath is blowing air out through the “kickplate”. Also on those brands ensure that the rear cardboard cover is securely attached. if it has one
  4. Your problem could be trouble with the a circuit or like you said low refrigerant expecially if it is constantly turning on and off
  5. also a failing compressor. will givbe you troubles You may need to contact a service technician and have them check out the unit they can normally do this for free or a small service charge than if there is a repair that is needed they should tell you how much it will be before you decide to have them continue with the repairs ok
I hope that this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

Wil not cool, and compeser motor will not start

Fan running at the compressor? Problem with the compressor start relay or compressor. Fan not running problem is in refrigerator. This problem will probably require a service call. Make sure the condensor is clean at the front of the unit where the grill is.
