I have a hitachi 60FX32B projection tv. Someone gave it to us. It is about 10 years old. We have had for a week now. It was working great. Now it has ghost shadows. I have tried the convergence. It looks like the shadows have a curve to it and the blue & yellow is more noticeable

If not a convergence issue: each tube (back of set) has a large black lens with a wing nut on side----loosen nut and rotate lens slowly until red is in focus.
hi, which amplifiers??? audio or convergence ? repairing yourself means you are proficient at solder re-work and posess that equipment, I own a 9 year old Hitachi projo and wouldn`t trade it for any of the new formats, I can advise you where to get the ic`s once you tell me which circuit has actually failed, video-tek
Hitachi WILL replace the part... My tv is over 4 years old and the light engine went bad. They sent me a new light engine free of charge two weeks ago and now it is PERFECT! When you call them make sure to ask for their superior if you get denied by someone.
The two other fuses look like resisters. My suggestion would be to check them first and if bad use a temp of the same rating to see if it was just a power surge.
Remove rear cardboard cover....can you see tops of red / green /
blue tubes ? Clean lens' with soft , dry cloth......Do you smoke ?
If not , replace back. Picture should now be clearer but not
necessarily brighter.......Next, remove front speaker grill and find
the RGB focus / screen adjust block....turn RGB screen controls
SLIGHTLY clockwise to achieve more brightness....not too much
or you will have retrace lines in background of picture.......Let me know after these steps are done........T.
