Haier P42LV6-T1 picture

Haier customer service was no help, here's my problem. The ;picture just went dark, to elaborate I can still see the picture just VERY faint, the light in the living room alone overpowers it. At night you can see the picture better but it still looks light somebody changed the setting to "negative". All the color settings, sharpness, contrast, etc... are all set to 50, changing them does nothing. If plasmas have such a thing, it seems like the "Backlight" went out. Also when you first turn the tv on the stanby power light turns from red to orange and flashes four times before turning green and the tv turning on.

I have a similiar problem. I heard a pop noise and the the picture went away. So I no longer have a picture but I can still hear whatever is on.

The picture is extremely dark and is hardly visible. I think this is a power supply issue.

When TV overheats white lines come across the screen

this problem with your tv is because the power supply is very close to the screen and jump into the metal voltages.

I recommend you buy another power supply and isolate the part of metar card.

42" haier plasma with sound and black screen!

Usually you have to be a certified technician of the manufacturer to order and receive those parts. It comes down to insurance reasons because if you were to install them yourself and the TV burned the house down and you were to perish, the company would be liable. As frustrating as it is, you will likely not get the parts. Are you saying that Haier will not provide a service technician for an out of warranty repair or at least point you in the right direction? That's poor customer service and I would think twice about purchasing from them again.

42 ' PLASMA TV MODEL NUMBER P42LV6-T1

Haier for sure recognizes the model. It's been a problem since produced. To correct the problem you'll need an upgrade kit. I'll attach the upgrade instructions and part number for the kit. Try resetting back to factory specs as noted at the bottom of instructions. Follow the procedure to a "T" when you see two menus pop up use the one on the right. Good luck! http://service.haieramerica.com/documents/SB-TV-0003.pdf

Haier Plasma TV problem

My experience with a Haier Plasma 42EP24S is that they have weak software chip that goes bad and can cause a number of symptoms from picture with no sound, will not recognize video inputs, or my current problem tv turns on and off irratically.  This is the second time i have replace this chip, which is the socketed chip on the vga/component/dvi input circuit card.  Last time i had this problem i ended up fixing it myself because sears took over 3 weeks and still could not figure out the problem.  I am working on obtaining this chip, probally get about a dozen so if anyone thinks this may fix there problem as well i my have some for sale.  [email protected] of Malobicky Digital Systems.
