Imagemixer 1.7V doesn't work on my Windows 7 PC. What is the solution please?

BenQ apparently never updated drivers for this hardware to work un a Windows 7 environment. I do not have this scanner myself, but I did come accross a site that indicated many were having luck with a driver found there. I was unable to test it as I lack the hardware. I do not know it it will work for you or not, but I offer the info for you to investigate to see if you can get it to work in Windows 7. The site is: http://www.bioticaindia.com/benq-s2w-4300u.html

Lastly, if your version of Windows 7 is "Pro" or "Ultimate", it supports "Windows Virtual PC." Windows Virtual PC is a fully *free*, fully functional licensed copy of Windows XP Pro direct from Microsoft that "runs" in Windows 7. You can install applications and hardware in the Vitual PC just as if it were another computer. Follow the Virtual PC link above to learn more about it. You may be able to breathe new life into your BenQ scanner running it in the Virtual PC, if the driver mentioned in the first paragraph doesn't work for you.

Only the Sony Picture Package is listed as Windows 7 compatible. You should contact their Tech Support: Perhaps you can borrow a PC from someone.

There are no official drivers for CanoScan Lide 30 for Windows XP, so your problem is obvious. I suggest you sending an e-mail at Canon including details about your scanner (date purchased, serial number in text form or scanned) asking them to develop driver set as this model is very trade and at shops since 2006 or 2007.

"Picture Package" and "ImageMixer Ver.1.5" supplied with Cyber-shot or Handycam are not compatible with Windows Vista. For users who have accidentally installed these software into Windows Vista, we are offering "Picture Package Uninstaller" as the uninstallation tool."

again this MIGHT work with your windows 7 install.

also you might try the compatibility mode:
Right click the shortcut you use to start the program and select the compatibility tab for you options.there.

The imagemixer version that came in the CD-ROM with the camera may no longer work with Windows Vista. A new version, inagemixer 3, has been developed for Vista. You download it from this website. The installation procedure is also provided on this website.

I had exactly the same problem. I was using a USB cable, as I had done with Windows XP. However, when I tried using a DV cable instead it worked no problem at all, and i was able to use Windows Movie Maker, so no need to install ImageMixer. Hope this helps. Tony

Pinnacle Studio will work with your camcorder. You can either plug the camcorder into the computer and capture the video to your hard drive or you can import the DVD into the hard drive.

Looks like Imagemixer isn't available anymore according to a Google search.
