Canon CanoScan LiDE 30 Flatbed Scanner Questions & Answers
It sounds like the drivers were installed, but none of the application software was installed. Along with the drivers you should have received another disc with software on it. This software would be used to import scanned images and edit them, save them, or email them. If you have that disc then go ahead and install the software. If you don't have the disc you can go to the Canon website with this link and download it:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/scanners/canoscan_series/canoscan_lide_30#DriversAndSoftwareAll you have to do is choose the operating system version you are using, and a list will come up with the software that you can download.
Thank you for the opportunity to assist you in resolving your issue.

Driver mismatch - the driver of the scanner has forgotten the location of the TWAIN driver because another software has been using it lately. Follow this

In most scanners, there is a lock (usually on the bottom side) to protect the internal parts while transport.
Detach the USB and power, turn the scanner upside down and unlock the button.
Attach the cables and retry.
Best of luck!
