JVC GR-D370 Mini DV Digital Camcorder Questions & Answers
I HAVE JVC GR-DX307 AS - how to save the video on
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
To save the video on a computer, a firewire connections must first be established from the JVC GR-DX307 AS to the appropriate firewire port of the laptop (assuming it has one or through a PCMCIA firewire adapter card if required). In the camera, the FireWire/DV port is located beneath the mode dial on the left side of the JVC GR-DX307’s body. To access the FireWire/DV port, the LCD monitor must be first opened.
Soon as that connection is established, you can use Windows Import Video (Vista) to capture / download the videos.
Alternately, the A / V port of the camera maybe used to connect to a DVD Recorder for direct, realtime copying & burning. For the disc to be playable in another machine, it must be finalized.
Good luck and thank yu for using FixYa.
Looking for a info manual for usgae
You should first check the JVC website for a manual. This is a recent model and a manual should be available for free download. Another option is a website called safemanuals.com. They have a massive database and often can supply manuals that are not available elsewhere. The specific supplier is diplodocs and you will need to create an account. Its free and easy. Good luck
Having difficulty connecting the jvc gr-d370 to my
I had this same issue. I solved it. The USB cable will NOT work to transfer video. You need a IEEE-1395 fire wire cable. I purchased the internal card and cable for under $20.00 for my DELL computer direct from dell. After you connect your camcorder to your computer, I clicked on windows photo gallery. Then in top left corner, click file and "import from camera or scanner. Your camcorder must be on video mode and play mode. Your computer should recognize the camcorder, click on it and then it will give you options, like you can upload and record direct onto DVD. I liked the option of uploading manually because if there are blank sections on the DV tape, the computer will stop uloading. Hope this helps.
My Jvc Digital Video Camera GR-D371u has gone into SafeMode
JVC has some known faults with their camcorders-- and most of the solutions are outside the abilities of average users. JVC says in this instance, to remove the battery and the charger, and let the camera sit for some period of time. If the camera also has a small battery for keeping the date, remove it as well. Let is sit and then replug it in and see if this cures it.
