My Sony Handycam DCR-30 is not compatible with my windows 7, what can I do?

I'm assuming you have tried connecting it to your computer with the proper connector. It said something like no drivers for this. Then installing it (with CD or something) anyways and it said not compatible or something.

First, Windows 7 professional and Windows 7 Ultimate have a "Windows XP mode". So if you have one of those versions you could try this. Otherwise skip to the next part. It may work without it but if it doesn't, just use Windows XP mode. Which you can download here. The Microsoft Windows 7 compatability site also says the DCR-HC-30 is compatible.

Second, are you sure it is a "DCR-30?" I did a quick search on the Sony website, and the only thing I could find was a "DCR-HC30." There might be a "DCR-30" but you can try the DCR-HC30 drivers. Which does support Windows 7. It shouldn't mess up your computer installing this driver because it has to be the right hardware, otherwise it wouldn't be in use.

I hope this helps with your problem.
