I recently purchased an Acer with Windows 7. Also a monitor P225HQL with 1920 resolution. Worked fine for two days, then opened windows and the resoluton dropped to 1280. Clicking on control panel, adjust resoluton, I have only a maximum of 1280. The 1920 disappered and I cannot find it anywhere.
Any suggestions?
thanks

Depending upon your operating system, try reducing your resolution to something lower. If your resolution is currently at 1920 x 1600, reduce it down to 1280 x 1024. This should allow you back up & regroup.
On a blank portion of your screen, <Right Click> your mouse, choose "Properties" for Windows XP or "Screen Resolution" for Windows 7, for Windows XP go to the last tab, Find the Resolution slider or drop down menu and choose a lower resolution than the one you are currently using.
If your laptop is connected to an external monitor, use the monitor menu buttons to recenter and shrink the image back to factory settings.

Otherwise you will need Windows 7 driver from LG if they have one.
Most monitors works fine without the need of the drivers when running XP, but Windows 7 you need the correct drivers to get the correct resolution setting, that is one of the reason I do not care much for Windows 7 until they fix this problem, since a lot of people out there that still have great working monitors that work just fine with XP, most manufacturers do not provide drivers for Windows 7 for old monitors because they want you to buy new monitors.
There may have been a software driver for your monitor for windows Vista to set the correct parameters - here’s what I found on Microsoft’s site but only for Windows 7
There are 2 things that directly effect your resolution, 1 is Monitor Driver and the other is Display Driver.
The Monitor driver isn't so important as the Default Monitor driver also works well.
You need to confirm that your Display drivers are up to date, Tell me your Desktop system, and I'll find you the Latest drivers (If available) for Win 7.
Can you check your monitor's device settings (on physical buttons on the monitor) and check for changes to the Hue or contrast setting(s)?
It sounds as if the hue or contrast has been adjusted slightly, just enough to be visible.
