Problem is in standby power supply or microprocessor area---not the do it yourself repair and likely not economical to repair due to age and brand of set.
Hopefully it is only a board component that needs replacing and your dry joints that need re-doing. I would advise that you take it to a television repair shop as this type of repair can be very complex (replacing resistors and capacitors just to name a few).
alright guys...blew a bulb....fixed that. still didint work...found out it was ballast...replaced that. tv worked for a month..all the sudden hdmi input didint work id plug in my playstation and screen would turn green and say "hdmi color has been corrupted" im thinking wtf? so a week later it works fine then just turns off in middle of watching espn... comes back on an hour later...only to turn off again...it just turns black for ten seconds then just turns off and the red and green lights blink at intervals of one second....replaced a bulb..not that, same problems.......when the tv comes on for the ten minutes before it quits working the pic and sound are great i just dnt get it...is it shorting out? color wheel bad? a fan?
