When playing videos on my computer the video driver fails and the video screen goes green... I get a message saying "video driver failed but has recovered" Happens every time i try to watch a video. I'm pretty sure its the driver that windows automatically installs for the video card, but every time i uninstall the driver and try to use the one from nvidia.com... windows updates it to their own as soon as i restart the computer

Most probably the drivers downloaded from Nvidia is not the correct version or an older version for your video card. That is probably windows revert the best options drivers for your video card. You can check the version or the date windows automatically installed from the device manager. You also can also use "Microsoft Updates" to update your drivers.

To remove the video drivers, go to "safemode" and from the "device manager" uninstalled the video drivers.Be sure to download the correct version for you video card and run the installer from Nvidia.

Do update your DirectX too.

Hope it helps.

I have just upgraded my pavillion note book to windows 10, when I tried to play a media player the screen is green, how can I resolve this?

NO PC told model
many old PCs (most) older than 2010
fail to load w10
or do and many chips are dead (for sure sound)
and GPU.
you the look in to device manager and see the red ink of BAD DRIVER
then you go to hp.com see your unstated PC
and it tells you , sorry no w10 support
if it says YES , all drivers are there.
it is that simple.

last

load free VLC
end.

no media told? at all.
DVD? what.
media player is not media it is only a 99% dead player.
VLC does most.

The screen turns green after playing videos for 20 minures

The Video Controller works off of the RGB principal. RED/Green/Blue pixels. The mix color is dependent on the formation and density of the pixel and rates. When one or more colors are absent the only functioning color will dominate, and it is Green in your case. The screen liquid crystals in Red and Blue are failing and only a screen replacement will fix the situation.

My HP Sleekbook is having issues playing Netflix. It will play for a little bit, and suddenly the screen turns green and the audio goes out. There will occasionally be a message concerning my video...

why not load the HP driver fresh from HP.
we are not HP , only HP has those.
that message was , bad video drivers, i guess, I cant see your screen, and what it did so my answer are limited by being blind to all that.
what OS is there, windows what?
it came new with w7 or 8
is it still that? not W10
if you upgraded your PC to w10 then that is what happens.
failures.
my guess 2, is AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
that driver at HP is now 6 years old, for w8
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-sleekbook-6-1000/5269347/model/5273965

if upgraded to w10 then say so.
so we can tell you what to do.
next
try the above
or go to AMD and get the driver from them.
does the PC run perfectly off the web>
off netfix, off the web?>
you never said.
for example a DVD video from the store, sold DVD
plays ok, then if not again, the GPU chip driver from AMD is no good. upgrade the driver now.

Hi,

I would reccomend updating the drivers to the latest version. You can visit the manufacturers website to obtain these.

Failing this, you could run a Windows update to see if it contains the necessary drivers.

HELP!! my computer screen keeps going black when i play games :(

There is probably something wrong with the card. You updated the drivers
after the problem ,,right.

You have 3GB ram so that is ok. Your cpu and video card are just fine,
so the most possible would be the card is failing.

I have posted a stability test and a benchmark/ stress test for you to check the card, download the one for your OS, xp, vista.

If the card is going, it will act up when you test the card.
