Check to make sure that you are using the correct cable. Unless you have connections for separate left and right audio, the cable that you should be using will likely be a 1/8" plug that has *4* sections on it, a stereo patch cable will have *3*, and may also be shorting one of the contacts.

Why cant i get my wii console to work in color

Well it might either be the tv or the av cables that is causing the wii system to be in black grey and white then.
Picture Is Black and White or Does Not Appear Situation:
  • The console powers on and shows a black and white image on the television screen
  • The console powers on and there is no image on the television

What to do:
  • Determine whether the Standard AV Cables (packaged with the system) or the Component Cables (sold separately) are being used.

  • AV Cables

    • Ensure the yellow, red, and white cables are connected to the correct corresponding inputs on the TV. (How To)

    • Try another set of inputs on the TV, or hooking the Wii console up to another TV.

    • If the TV does not have the yellow, red and white inputs, it will most likely have component inputs which allow standard AV cable use. Try these AV hookup steps. (How To)

  • Component Cables

    • Ensure the red, blue and green video cables are connected to the correct corresponding inputs on the TV. (How To)

    • Try another set of inputs on the TV, or hooking the Wii console up to another TV.

Still Not Resolved:
  • If the television is continues to show a black and white image when powering on the Wii console, then the problem is likely with the system and it will need to be repaired. Please call 1-800-255-3700 so that we may assist you further.

Welcome to FixYa.

You can use the supplied AV cable to shoot or playback images using a TV/computer.

1. Turn off the camera and the computer/tv
2. Connect the AV cable to the camera's A/V out terminal(open the terminal cover and plug the AV cable in all the way)
3. Plug the other ends of the cable to the VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN jacks on the computer/ TV.
4. Turn on the TV/ computer and switch it to video mode
5. Turn on the camera.

Please let me know if you have any questions and if this solution was helpful.

I have connected my ps one to the television but cant seem to find the channel the visual is one or tune it in please help

  • If you using standard AV cables, (Yellow,White and Red) make sure they are connected to the correct INPUTS in the back of your TV. Now you should be able to switch to VIDEO or INPUT on your TV. Usually there is an INPUT or VIDEO SOURCE button on the remote, or an INPUT or MENU button on the front of the TV.
  • If you are using an RF Adapter, it's a simple matter of connecting it to the CABLE connection in the rear of your TV. Turn on the PS1 and surf to either channel 3 or 4 on the TV you should have a signal now.
Hope this helps, please rate.

Nintendo Wii AV Cables not work

It could be a problem inside the Wii where it only outputs a signal through HD. Have you tried a different TV using the original cables? If the problem persists I would recommend calling Nintendo.
