How do you get the guitar and the bass to work at the same time... we have another ps3 guitar hero # 3 guitar but do not know how to make them both work at the same time... Danny
I dont believe the guitar from Guitar Hero 3 is compatable with Rock Band or Rock Band 2, there is a compatibility chart on Rockband.com that will let you know for sure.

Possible you need to reset the PS3 . Also check if the CD is reading, is compatible and not a pirated version. Finally check if the parental control is active.
Heres The Problem Scott.. When rock band was first released it was not compatible with guitar hero's guitar. only guitars from world tour forward will work with rock band

They are compatible on the 360, the PS3, and the RB drums for PS2.

This cant be done for the wii sadly because the guitars can not be switched, so you would have to use 2rock band guitars for rock band and 2Gh controllers for Gh.
if it is for rock band then it cannot work for guitar hero nor can guitar hero guitars can work for rock band hope this helps thanks for reading(you can be the first to rate me)
I think that rock bad comes with a special guitar that is for rockband so you cant use the guitar hero guitar on rockband SAD but true. check out ebay for another rockband guitar I had to do the same.. unless we are in the same boat and I was wrong!
