I need to replace the wired controller to my son's 5:1 PC speaker system.
Without it the speakers are useless but even more so is the Company. They say they don't carry any more parts and have no more information about this Model. I bought it almost 2 years ago. If I had the plug ID # to the end I can repair it myself. But the Tech guy at Altec said they don't even know what part that is.

Re: Controller for Altec Lansing XA3051
If you plug it in to your computer, a freeware program may still be able to recognize it and give you exact model numbers and IDs--worth a shot, and you'll love the program anyway--Belarc Advisor. It lists all hardware and software, model numbers, keys, etc. Hope it helps.

Im sorry to tell you, but they are telling you the true. Unless you have the factory Radio that comes with those speaker they are useless to you unless your car is the same make as the one that those speaker came out of. Each speaker have four wires coming form them? If they have only two wires on them you can use them in series with other in your home theather system.
1st check your PC if audio is fine with headphones or some other speakers , then check your control panel and test sounds compatibility might that you are using wrong speaker setting in the PC. The below is the company web link to your speaker set , try this too http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/specs/recent/amr50/
if nothing works please msg me the exact config of ur PC
If there are no visable ways to get into the box from the back then you must remove the speaker from the from and gain access through the hole the speaker came out of. It is not too uncommon for speaker units to built this way. Good luck.
