My Acer LCD AL1711 went off after seconds of turning on.

A white screen indicates the power supply board is not putting out the correct voltages to properly power the monitor, just the back light. This type of issue is caused by a failure of the filter capacitors on the power board. You can rebuild your power supply board and bring the monitor back to life by just replacing the the bad capacitors. The problem is that model the Acer AL1711 could come with 1 of 4 different power supply boards install depending and the date manufacturer and supply on hand. If you want to repair the monitor if you could open the unit and get either the model number of the power supply board or send a picture of the board to me I will be glad to help you repair the unit and get it back up and running. It is a hardware problem.You can repaired it from service center.

take a flathead screwdriver and place it anywhere where the front bezel and back, you can start on the top, bottom, or either side of the monitor, place your flathead screwdrier and place it in any part of the **** and twist your screwdriver, this should start releasing some of the clips. I had to do this with several dell lcd monitors to get into them. Keep in mind after this there will be more screws to take out to get the lcd out of there.

I just had this problem at work and what I did was I powered up the computer and went into the menu. I went to the 2nd to last button and selected the reset. It's working perfectly now. I do not know if it will last but it's easy and free.

have you try to use another monitor? when its working there's must be a problem to your LCD monitor, but if does not.. there must be a problem to your video card..

there is something that defect on the main board power input.

same prob on mine gues its the inverter board but not tried yet

This is possibly an inverter. When the monitor goes out, examine the LCD to see if you can see a faint image of the video being displayed. IF so, replace inverter. If not, possibly a bad LCD or video circuitry.

My Acer AL1711 packed up last week, I bought a new Acer and noticed they have a 3 year warranty. Give Acer a call on 0870 853 1000, and they`ll do a warranty repair with free pick up and return - great service! Not sure if you need proof of purchase or not, luckily I had mine.
