Using the monitor controls (1 & 2) widened the view to go across my two screen. Now I cannot find how to get it back to single monitor view Please Help?
Go to display and then settings. Usually there is a check box that says something like extend desktop. Just uncheck that, hit apply and you should be back to one screen again.
You can get to the display properties either by an icon by the clock if your video card uses a manager or by right clicking on a blank spot on your desktop then select properties and the display manager comes up. Then just click on the settings tab.
And if nothing else unplug the video cable to the second monitor. the card should detect the change and set itself back to one screen.
Go to the video card driver manager ..(probably present in teh tray system in the right side on the task bar ) open it ..and default any setting s...
another thing to verify is the enabling or disabling of the second monitor...if you disable it ...this will default the view also to a single display
for laptops the short cut for this on keyboard is FN+F4..
but if it is a desktop ..Im not sure if it will work or not...anyway ..just look on the video card driver manager ...right click on it ..and open options or settings ..there you will find almost all you need for settings..
Open Personalization by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Personalization.
Click Window Color and Appearance.
Under Window Color and Appearance, click the color you want, and then click OK.
Note
If you see the Appearance Settings dialog box instead of the Window Color and Appearance
window, the theme might not be set to Windows Vista, the color scheme might not be set to Windows Aero, or the computer might not meet the minimum hardware requirements for running Windows Aero. For more information, see Troubleshoot problems with Windows Aero.
hope this helps
