Looking for a manual for white model 1888 jean machine

I'm not sure if this is the manual you need, but there's a free one for a 1888 model available through the Singer website, strange as it may seem. (In fact you can find free manuals for many White brand sewing machines via the Singer website.)

Look under Singer's "Support and Resources" then select "Instruction manuals" , or follow this link: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals

On the Instructions Manual page you'll see it says "Find Your Manual - Step 1, Step 2 etc etc" and under that there's a search box that says "Model Number"

Into this search box just type "w"
(don't type "white", because that doesn't work)

You'll be taken to a near incomprehensible results page but scroll down and you'll see there's one listed as "W1788, W1888"
which I think is the same as your machine

The White 1888 uses the FDM KD-1902 foot pedal. I can't find a part number for the 1418 control. It looks like they should be compatible based on the control plug end though.

This site has a universal controller that claims to be compatible with both machines: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/foot-control-and-cord-universal-419451-003.aspx .

visit www.singerco.com, and go to customer support page, there are instruction manuals there for Singers and Whites (w before the number), and also a guide where to look for the model number.

Go to www.singerco.com and under customer support, click on instruction manual, now enter 1888 and download a free manual. Good luck

Almost any local sewing dealer will sell it, look online as well. The cost is about 30-45. If you doo a search at any BIG online dealer they will have.

Instruction manuals at the bottom of the page-click on it
Put in your model number w1760 & click search

Yes, it will be the correct manual. I found the manual at http://www.sewingmanuals.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/White.htm if you needed to know where to find one.
