4300 laserjet wont print docs. IP address is same as a network computer, cannot change IP address? Configuration page prints and I check ports etc but will not print. cannot change IP address. Help....

Have you tried changing the IP address from within the driver's properties? Go into the print driver properties, and under the Ports tab, edit the 4300's port and change the IP address that it is associated with. You may need to reboot the printer once you make the change and save it, but that should allow you to change its IP address.

How to change the ip address of a hp jetdirect 170X

Hi,

The manual is located here, and it recommends the following procedure, which starts on page 18.

Connect the Jetdirect box to the printer and the network and power on.
Press the Test button on the back of the Jetdirect box to print a configuration page.

The configuration page should show the IP address of the Jetdirect box.

If this is an IP address in the normal range of your network, ie the first three numbers of the Jetdirect box's IP address and your computer's IP address is the same (such as 192.168.0.) then simply type the IP address into your computers internet browser and you can reach the configuration page. The steps on page 58 detail the user interface for the web login.

If the Jetdirect box does not get an IP address withing 2 minutes of it booting up, it assigns itself an IP address of 192.0.0.192, and you can connect to it over the network if you change your own network settings to 192.0.0. and a number from 1-254 (but not 192).

How can i configure a ip printer on network

The first thing you need to do is plug in the power and the Ethernet connection. All network-capable HP printers and JetDirect appliances will default to DHCP mode, which automatically acquires an IP address on any DHCP-enabled network. Even tiny home networks with inexpensive routers have automatic DHCP-assigned IP addresses. Once the printer comes online, it will automatically obtain the first available IP address in the DHCP pool.
Next, you need to figure out what IP address the printer automatically obtained. There are multiple ways to do this. The surest way is to get the printer to tell you what the address is by printing out a network configuration printer report. You'll have to cycle through the options on your particular HP printer to find and print the configuration report. On an HP 4250 for example, you would push Menu, Information, and then Print Configuration to get it to tell you what IP address it's sitting on. The external JetDirect appliances have a button you can press to print the configuration.
If you don't want to or can't physically touch the printer because it's in some remote location, that's not a problem. If you happen to know what the DHCP range is or you can look at the DHCP server itself, you'll quickly be able to see what IP address the printer obtained. If it's a relatively empty network, you can ping the first available IP in the DHCP range and find the printer that way.
Once you know the IP address of the printer, it would be possible to declare you're done and just print to that dynamic IP address. But from a management perspective, you may not want to do this because you want the printer on a fixed and predictable IP address. Really smart network administrators will create static DNS names for the printer and have people point to the name of the printer instead of the IP address. That way, if the printer ever needs to be moved or needs a new IP address, you won't have to change all the servers and workstations pointing to the raw IP address. You can just change the DNS entry in one place and everyone will automatically divert to the new IP address. But before you can assign any DNS entries, you must change the DHCP address.
Changing the IP address
If you want to change the IP address to something static, you can do it via Web interface or command line interface (CLI). But by the time you even start the Web interface, you could be all finished if you used the CLI. We're going to stick with the CLI here because it requires only a few quick commands.
For the purpose of this tutorial, let's say that the printer obtained an IP address of 10.1.1.10 and you want to change it to 10.1.1.100. All you need to do is open up a command prompt and type telnet 10.1.1.10. To change the IP address, type ip: 10.1.1.100.Type exit, and it will ask you whether you want to save the settings. Just press Y to apply the changes.
Let's say you want to take an existing printer that's on 10.1.1.100 and move it to a completely different subnet. Instead of following this entire procedure, just telnet in and change the IP configuration to the new settings before you power down and move the printer. Then, once you plug in the printer to the new network, it will already be ready to go and accessible.
Suppose you want to change the IP address to 10.1.2.100, the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and the default gateway to 10.1.2.1. You'd type the following series of commands:
  • telnet 10.1.1.100
  • ip: 10.1.2.100
  • subnet-mask: 255.255.255.0
  • default-gw: 10.1.2.1
  • exit
  • y
That last Y key commits the changes, and you will lose the ability to access this printer until you reattach it to the 10.1.2.0/24 network. But once it's reattached, you won't have to go through the whole setup routine of determining the DHCP address and changing it because it will already be configured to 10.1.2.100.

How can i established network connection with ir2800 and desktop

First of all you must have a local network hub.Connect your network hub with your computer and the Ir 2800,your IR have to be equip with a network card.(If only have to connect one computer and your computer is not connected to a LAN network, you can use a cross-over cable connected directly from the computer to the IR machine.Give your computer a ip address by right clicing on the local LAN select properties and select internet protocol ver 4,and select a ip address. If your computer is already connected to a network, dont change the ip address go to command prompt tipe in ipconfig/all.This dos command will show you what the ip address is of your computer.
Example the ip address is 192.168.1.10,Select a ip address for your IR by changing the last class to any number. But you must make sure this ip is not in use, lets say you select 25.In the command prompt tipe :ping 192.168.1.25.If you get a reply, dont use the number.Select a number untill you dont get a reply and a time out response.
Now use this IP address and program it on the IR2800 under additional funcktion system setings, network settings,TCP IP settings.
Switch the machine off for a minute and switch it back on.

Now load the printer drivers of the IR and add the port you selected.

Pls. help us,how can we used land cord to connect printer konica 7035 to computer. we already down load a driver from internet . we try many times to check sa IP address and test print but still we cannt...

Using arp command (UNIX)
From UNIX you can use the arp command to assign the IP address to the network interface card.
Perform the following procedure:
1. Turn off the print controller and the main body printer.
2. Log in as superuser on a host on the same subnet as the network interface card. However, if
the server resides on another subnet, complete this procedure to store the IP address in the
network interface card.
3. Find the MAC address of the network interface card. The address is printed on the Status Page
each time you turn on the print controller and the main body printer.
4. Edit the hosts file (usually /etc/hosts) or use NIS or DIS to add IP address and node name of
the network interface card. See the network administrator for the IP address. For example, a
network interface card with a name of printfast and an IP address of 192.9.200.200 has the
entry:
192.9.200.200 printfast
5. Add an entry to the arp cache for IP address and Mac address of the network interface card,
as:
arp -s 192.9.200.200 0:40:c8:0:0:ff
RS6000 (AIX) requires the ether option after arp -s. For example:
arp -s ether 192.9.200.200 0:40:c8:0:0:ff
6. Check the print controller and the main body printer to see that the network interface card is connected
to the network. Turn on the print controller and the main body printer.
7. Send a ping command to the network interface card to verify it is running on the network, as
for example:
ping 192.9.200.200 or ping printfast
The network interface card will not respond to this ping command but it will read its IP address
from the packets.
8. Turn off the print controller and the main body printer and back on again and then send the
ping command again to verify that the network interface card obtained its IP address. A confirmation
message displays as:
192.9.200.200 is alive
9. Remove the entry from the arp cache using the following command. Specify the network
interface card either by its IP address or by its name, for example:
arp -d printfast
Konica Network Interface Card INSTRUCTION MANUAL 2-5
Chapter 2 Setting Up the Network Interface Card
Using MAP
By using MAP (Management Access Program) included the CD-ROM that comes with the network
interface card, you can automatically identify the network interface card on the network and set it up
for TCP/IP by using Web Utilities. To use this method to assign the IP address to the network interface
card, the following procedure should be performed on computers in advance:
• TCP/IP correctly configured
• IPX/SPX-compatible protocol installed
• MAP installed and MAP setup correctly executed
About how to set up TCP/IP and how to install IPX/SPX-compatible protocol, refer to Windows Help
menus for example. For MAP, refer to “Using MAP (Management Access Program)” in this chapter.
To change an IP address already assigned to a network interface card, you can not use the
arp command. Use Web Utilities instead. These methods also allow you to set up subnet
mask and default gateway, etc.
Using NIManage
Refer to “Chapter 7 AppleTalk Configuration”.
 Accessing Web Utilities
The network interface card is provided with an HTTP server having Web Utilities. By accessing this server,
you can change settings of the printing system. There are two ways to access Web Utilities, through a Web
Browser, either through Netscape Navigator, version 4.x or greater or through Internet Explorer, version 4.x
or greater.
• Use MAP to have the network interface card on the networks identified automatically, thereby accessing
Web Utilities.
• Use a Web Browser to type the IP address assigned to the network interface card, and thereby access
the Web Utilities. For example:
http://192.168.0.128/
If you designate the proxy setting in your Web Browser you cannot access the Web Utilities.
For more information see your network adminisrator.
Chapter 2 Setting Up the Network Interface Card
2-6 Konica Network Interface Card INSTRUCTION MANUAL
 Using MAP (Management Access Program)
A utility called MAP is provided on the CD-ROM that comes with the network interface card.
This program automatically identifies the network interface cards on the networks and lists them on Web
Browser screen. From this Web Browser list you can select a network interface card to change its settings
and control Web Utilities.

About n/w printer

If you have the network enabled 1022 you need to find out it's current IP address. To do this press & hold the Go button on the top of the printer (the large button) for 5 - 10 seconds or until the printer starts to print. This prints out the configuration page.
The printer is set to get an IP address via DHCP from the factory, but once you have it's IP address you need to give it a static IP address. You can do this by typing the IP address into a web browser & go to the network tab. choose an IP address that has not been allocated already & apply the changes.
You will need to type the new IP address into the browser if you want access to change further settings.
You can then add the printer using the new static IP address.

DPR-1260 ... prints but cannot access web config page

To get into the web configuration you need to know your firmware on the DPR-1260. If it is 1.12, us http://dlinkps-xxxxxx where the X's are the last 6 number of the mac address. If it is 1.20 and up, use http://dlink-xxxxxx, where the x's are the last 6 number of the mac address. If you do set it up as DHCP or static and know the ip address of the print server just type in the ip address of the print server on the address bar.
