Can you recommend how to clean the dvd player? I noticed that the movies played fairly ok when I used a cheap wal-mart cleaner. Let me know if you can recommend a better cleaner. it could be the disc itself dvds really don't age that well a common problem is that one day they just decide to freeze and stop working even though they had only been played a few times the most extreme would be your situation. I would suggest trying newer dvds out if same problem occurs then it is a problem with the dvd player.
Have you been using this DVD player for several years? If so, there may just be residue on the lens inside, which keeps it from reading a DVD and causes it to freeze. Have you tried running a cleaning disc through it to see if that fixes the problem? Worth a try. ;)
No,tv internal DVD player are not on sale by itself as a seperate unit, only can buy it from the tv corporations themselves and it not cheap and have to have experience to putting it in into the tv internal tv itself. The tv internal DVD player now, could be the laser eye data reader have problems reading mp3 and mp4 files on the DVD disc, which are video files. Now tries to play more than one DVD movies dic, tries like to play like 5 to 6 original DVD movies. One disc don't play tries another DVD disc.Tries this might forcing the laser eye reader to read DVD dics again and than might fix it to read video files again.Or just buy an external DVD player hook it up to the tv and play DVD disc on to the tv video modes.DVD players external devices are really cheap these day, like can buy new one for $40.
I would say your player is proably getting a lil old and maybe damaging the cd itself as most due overtime even the most pristine kept cd will catch scratches from being put into the player I would suggest taking a can of compressed air to your player to ensure the lense is clean
U can't not stop profanity,if u watch NC17,PG13 or Rated R DVD movies.Captioning CC1,2,3 dosen't effect the DVD movie. It only have captioning on the tv that in tv brocasting shows, not in the DVD movie. If u want no profanity in movies watch PG movies.
I found out this tv/dvd will not play certain movies that are rented from netflix is that their dvd have a restricted thing, and this tv will not read the movies that are on certain disks. It plays movies good that I rented here in town. So theres nothing really wrong with the player itself. I did some reading and this is what I assummed.
2. If they are correct, take out movie, press Play/Stop at same time on the front of the unit (not remote) to reset any settings that may have been changed.
Hi rox09
Well you can rip your DVD to any external drive using and third party DVD ripping software ,once you do that you will get a AVI,MPEG and any common fomats your DVD player supports
Inorder to play those files in your DVD player ,you need the check whether your DVD has a USB input port or else if you laptop or computer has a S-video out put and your TV has S-Video input ;you can play directly from your laptop/computer to the TV using a S-video Cable which is available in any Computer shop.
I hope this helps

it might be that you are playing a dual layer dvd in the player. The player needs to focus on the second layer of the movie, and that might be why the dvd freezes. Leave it there for a while and the dvd should continue if it is this situation.
