I have a Brother MFC 9440 CN All in one printer and it says unable to print routine maitenance help!

Print Unable 71 means Polygon Mirror Failure on the Brother HL-4040, MFC-9840 and MFC-9440.
Pretty safe to say it means the same thing on the MFC-8880.

The Polygon Mirror is part of the Laser Unit, and its rpm isn't within specs.
The Laser Unit must be replaced.

The problem is with the Fuser thermistor. The thermistor detects & heats the fuser temperatures. When this error comes up it means that the fuser thermister is not function corretly.
Unfortunatly it cant be reset so it will have to be replaced.

Colored vertical streaks - looks like a transfer belt problem, and it's not user fixable. You may need a new belt unit - you can find it for around US$ 80-120, but you may want to have a technician inspect the unit first, since it could arguably be the drum instead, and you don't want to fork around US$ 100 and replace the wrong part.
You can try showing a printer sample at a print shop; by looking at the streaks it is possible to diagnose drum, fuser or belt problems.

the ink pads need to get replaced with new ones. They are fully saturated with ink and need to be replaced and reset.

Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, try this step by step.without missing any thing. thanks

That is referred to as a repeating defect...most likely caused by a defect on the magenta drum unit. Here is a link for information on how to repair this problem:
