I want to change the top screen - Nintendo DS Lite Console

First you need a tri wing screwdriver and a cross screwdriver.You can get both on ebay.Then their are seven screws four tri wing and three cross.You will need to pry the back off be very careful.Start on the side that doesn't have the on off switch and work your way around.Once you have the back off unscrew the two cross screws that hold the logic board on.Then unplug the white and black wifi and mic wires they snap on and off.Then flip the logic board over by pushing the bottom screen out.On the other side is where the ribbon for the top screen is.To get the hinge apart their are two more cross screws in the top left corner take them out that releases the hinge.very carefully roll the ribbon so you can get it through the metal ring and the wires pull the wires first.to get the top apart the four cross screws are above and below the speakers under those small squares.A needle will get them out easily .Once you get the screws out then slid the back of the top up 1/8 of an inch then pull the back off carefully.You need to push the screen out and unsolder the speaker wires or use new ones.Make sure when putting it back together you roll the new ribbon the right way look at the old one to find out .Getting the old ribbon out and the new one in is a little difficult so take it all apart first and get the wires out then the ribbon and put the ribbon in first.
