Go to this site ... http://www.samsung.com/us/support/main/supportMain.do

Using their search tool, search your printer to find the owner manual. You will find the answer to your question and the resolution in that manual's troubleshooting section.

If you are related to the other Samsung question, "i need permanent reset software of ..." relolading the drivers may overcome this issue. I am more inclined to think you need service on the corona wire or at least a cleaning of it. Instructions will be in the manual.

My Canon S300 printer is flashing green, then 8 oranges flashes (waste tank almost full). What exactly do I have to do to resolve the problem?

This procedure will print out information about the EPROM:

2 EEPROM information printing
a) While the printer is powered off, hold down the RESUME button, then press the POWER button.
b) When the POWER LED lights up, hold down the POWER button, and press the RESUME button twice.
c) Release both the POWER and RESUME buttons, and the service mode is entered.

<< Note: the printer will cycle through and then the power light will stay on steady>>

d) Press the RESUME button twice.
e) Press the POWER button.
==>EEPROM information printing pattern will be printed.

If a report is printed, then you know you have done the steps correctly. The top line of the report will look like this:

S300 P=V 1.00 Destination=000.0 D=095.5 Page=05716 CH=0000 BK=(000) C=(-01)

The number after "D=" is the waste tank counter. To reset this to zero, repeat the steps above except for step d) you will press the RESUME button four times. (Also, you may have to press the POWER button in step e) twice).

Repeat the steps to print the information and the counter number should be zero. Mine changed from the above line to this:

S300 P=V 1.00 Destination=000.0 D=000.0 Page=05717 CH=0001 BK=(000) C=(-01)

The printer apear to be dead!

Buttons and lights on the printer Two buttons and three lights are located on the front of an HP Deskjet printer.
  • The lights tell when the printer is working or when it needs attention.
  • The buttons help control the printer.

When the problem is corrected and the top cover is closed, the light will stop blinking. Troubleshooting blinking printer lights Blinking lights Reason c00123895.jpg

All lights are off. The printer is off (asleep).

Press the POWER buttonc00123886.jpg to turn the printer on.

The printer should turn on automatically when a print job is sent to it. c00123898.jpg

The POWER (top) light is on. The printer is idle.

The printer is ready to print a document. c00123900.jpg

The POWER (top) light is blinking. The printer is busy printing.

Allow enough time to print. When a document has many fonts or graphics or uses complex color such as a color photo, it takes longer to begin printing. c00123902.jpg

The PRINT CARTRIDGE (bottom) light is blinking. Possible causes:

  • The front cover is open. Make sure the front cover is completely closed.
  • The print cartridge is missing. Make sure the print cartridge has been installed correctly.
  • The print cartridge is broken or incompatible. Lift the front cover, and wait for the print-cartridge cradle to slide out. Check the part numbers on the print cartridge:

Black: 51645A

Color: C1823D,

If the print cartridges are compatible and correctly installed, they may be defective. Try replacing the print cartridges.

If none of the above suggestions fix the problem, and, if the error message still occurs, it may be a hardware failure. Call the HP Customer Support Center.
